Looks like the Devils have learned from their recent mistakes and decided to change tactics tonight...
"Don't take a 2-0 lead".
And it worked.
In his 5th game after the trade Kovalchuk scores his first goal as a Devil and the team romps to a 5-2 victory.
But that still leaves the Devils with only 5 wins in the last 16 games
(since that famous 1-0 shootout win in the 'double-shutout' against the Rangers in mid-January).
Maybe Kovalchuk's teammates won't be scared to play alongside him any longer.
