9. Phoenix beat New Jersey 4-3. The Devils outshot the Coyotes, but they could not get the equalizer. The turning point in the game occurred when Daniel Winnik scored the 3rd goal for Phoenix and was hit with a high stick while scoring it. A minor was given to the Devils and Phoenix scored their 4th goal on that PP. The Devils scored a goal after that, which would have made it 3-3 if not for that ill-timed penalty. Dauls will be sad about this one.

Another shutout for Brodeur, but the Devils lose 3-4 to Phoenix.
I was distracted by the odd info above and for a while I forgot about the annoying loss, and the 4 goals on only 19 shots, what a come down from a 51 save shutout.
Senators' rookie, Mike "distant cousin" Brodeur, what a tough surname for a young goaltender to live up to in the NHL. But he's 2-0-0, so maybe he's determined to get out of the minors.
But imagine trying to start a career in the NHL now if your name's Gretzky?
