You live in the wrong country. It is legal in Canada to marry transwomen. It is considered a same sex marriage, in Canada, if a man marries a transwoman but at least it's possible to do so. I would like to see the law not make a differentiation (is that a real word?) between same sex and opposite sex marriages, but at least it is possible for a man to marry a transwoman here. And that brings up another point for me. I see transwomen as being the opposite sex from male (i.e. female) so why should a man marrying a woman be classified as a same sex marriage. (My comments also apply to a woman marrying a transman) Regardless of what the law states I am still glad that my country allows a marriage of a man and a transwoman. Some churches will perform the ceremony. Some day (and the sooner the better) I will happily marry the transwoman of my dreams.
