okay this will probably be noob question of the year but this is for the benefit of you guys so bear with me lol

how do i properly compress a file (ie movie) so that i can add it on to this site for all of you guys to download??

I'm afraid there's currently no way of doing this... If it is a full-length video from member's area i need to make sure the copyright holder allows sharing his vids.. Normally they do not allow that.
