Seriously? This is how you start a thread?

They are people. Enough said.

I understand your question and the intent it was asked. I'm not the best source to answer so just wait to hear from the 'gurls' themselves.
Have fun going through the learning process. I still am.
And yes , it's a whole lot more than 'they're people'. Everyone is 'people' but we all are individuals who fall into groups. Some groups just happen to be more awesome than others.

Apparently, your "learning process" hasn't yet included anything that would keep you from using the word gurls. I used to use that word, until some of our transmembers pointed out that they (justifiably) don't like it. Surely you've notice that? What's worse is putting it in quotation marks, which smacks of ungendering.

As for my "they are people" comment: of course "it's a whole lot more than that." Obviously, my brief reply was about the nature of his unspecific question, not an actual statement that there is nothing more to transwomen. As for "some groups just happen to be more awesome than others," in this context that has to be one of the most inexplicable generalizations I have seen posted on this site. It far surpasses things like "there are no shemales in my country."

Apparently, you have a little bit of an attitude/ego problem if someone wants to just have someone feel more relaxed being new. My reference to 'gurls' as well as the quotation marks was one: the word itself was used to me on a number of occasions by TG's (or do you have an issue with me using TG's?) Second: the quotation marks were to have him know that I was referring to TG's. If on the other hand I've insulted or spoke out of turn in reference to any Transgendered, crossdresser or pre op. I apologize. All that said, I see many times where you try to shine over other comments, drag down other males & try to monopolize threads. So, to honor your tenure & your vast knowledge, I'll no longer reply to future threads, or any other comments from you.

I stand by what I wrote. The term "gurls" implies otherness from those born without female genitalia. As such, it is a form of ungendering. No amount of writing about me, ascribing to me things that aren't true, or sarcastically referring to my "tenure" or "knowledge" changes that simple fact.

The term "shemale" is also a form of ungendering, in my opinion. My transwomen friends seem to find this to be a marginally acceptable term invented for the purpose of pornography. We don't have to use it, despite that it may appear on a picture we post because of the site name. Other ungendering terms should also be avoided.

Of all the things I have been called in life; "gurl" would be a very welcome alternative.

I'm sure that's true. Notably, you were the first person on this site to tell me not to use that word, spelled that way. Remember?

Yes, but aren't you above using four letter words?

That isn't true. (There, I used three of them.)

i get the question

i think he wants to learn how not offend the women he may date. the porn view of
transwomen is really fantasy not real and can be degrading to most. i too get trapped in the porn world and forget that these women are like everyone else not
objects. they are trying to survive in this world too.
