Regarding background noise, you have to be careful. A few years I let a friend video me playing with a guy I was "dating". We were sought of caught up in the moment and didn't notice some bothersome noise in the background. When we played the video back you could distinctly hear the "Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep of a garbage truck backing up, pick up a dumpster and empty it's contents in the truck.
