That's quite funny, randolph, and unfortunately quite true. You have a president who doesn't know how to lead and is too weak to do lead if he knew how. It seems that "Yes, we can" has turned into "run away and hide".

Where di you find the cartoon?

Yeah, very true... Hopefully he just keeps fading away until and beyond 2012

franalexes 08-18-2011 07:07 AM

Maybe he will re-new "the war on poverty". Nah, poverty won.

randolph, there's more truth in the cartoon and your accompanying statement than a lot of people would be willing to admit. It was only a few days ago that I saw your country's president on the tv news saying the same thing that is in the cartoon. He used different words, but the meaning was still the same.

"Money equals speech." Unfortunately, there are those even on this site who, in essence, support such a perversion of democracy.

There's something wrong with the cartoon Randolph, the media wouldn't be asking the president any hard questions.

Yeah, the patent issue is truly becoming not only outrageous but obscene.
We are allowing companies to patent natural genes and organisms.

This cartoon is not about patents. It's about Romney's statement that "corporations are people," made at the Iowa State Fair in the run-up to the Ames Straw Poll.

The next to the last frame is about patents.

If you see the patent issue as the primary thrust of this cartoon, you are missing the much broader point the cartoonist is clearly making. Failure to see the terms of a battle is tantamount to losing the war before the fighting has been engaged.

I was simply commenting on one aspect of the issue. Obviously the primary thrust of the cartoon was the effect of money on politics. Cartoons can often be multifaceted, that what makes them interesting political commentary.

Your cartoon shows the entire "Middle East" as evil-doers. Unfortunately, most Americans fail to see Israel in that group ... despite the tremendous evidence of that nation's charter membership!

If teabaggers would shut up and stop publishing books they wouldn't be so easy to characterize as idiots. As the latest Fortune magazine points out, Washington is full idiots.
