The all new DR WHO
Looks like it's true Matt Smith is the new DR WHO  and here's some photos from the BBC :frown: Jerseygirl Jen
OK for starters i'm sad that David Tennant is gone and i'm all for this new younger Doctor ... but they had better put him in a new suit NOW!! He looks like Orville Redenbachers grandson! Pass on that or shoot him w/ a Dalek deathray and maybe the next regeneration will have better fashion sense.

No there would be a 13th Doctor as that is the final and fatal regeneration. But Timelords can recharge their regenerations but it takes 4 or more and the eye of Rassilon back on Gallifrey to do it.
I was always under the impression the number 12 was the final one, Anywho i kinda dout the series will last to number 13, One of the rumors floating around was that the new DR was going to be a very young 1st DR starting off with his escape but i guess that idea fell thru  Jerseygirl Jen
that would have been a clever twist. But this way they can reintroduce more timelords and timeladies. The Master will return , The Rani was supposed to be played by Joan Collins then regenerate into a younger form , Romana will return and The Meddling Monk are all rumored to return.
I've read somewhere that the meddling monk was the Master in his prevous regenaration , I was wondering when Romana was going to show up agian, I alway felt Romana deservered a series of her own and not Sarah Jane and the awful K-9 and company one shot from the 80s  Jerseygirl Jen
Nope they were all part of the same graduating class and clique.
And is it just me or does the Tardis look ... boxier and ... cleaner , almost like it's 'new'?

I guess so ... but how new can the theme be? Right when i get used to it they change it. I'm still gonna watch but his suit just sucks. Tennants style was perfect and in Matts promo pics it looked like he would have carried a little of that over w/ him. Google him and you'll see the style i mean. I have the grey suit Matt Smith as my avatar on another forum.
I believe a new production team is taking over with the start of the 11th DR so i guess the new opening theme is there way of saying we're here, I hope that the 5th DR will be teaming up with the new guy, I always like Peter Davison and yes i think he was the cutest DR :inlove: Jerseygirl Jen
New team all around, and the more i look at that Tardis pic the bigger it looks lol . I wonder if Jenny , his daughter will show up?
The return of Jenny has been rumored for some time she'll show up one day i'm sure  Jerseygirl Jen
Rumor: Jenny is Captain Jacks mom ... so thd Doctor is Jacks grandfather.
That's a new one as i've haven't heard that one but sadly i'm hearing that the new team is kinda casting away most of what the previous team added i also hear they are going back to the more classic Cybermen and scraping the new verson of the Cybermen so Capt Jack and Jenny may be left out in the cold for the time being :frown: Jerseygirl Jen
dat breaks my heart
i so luved Capt Jack and Jenny in DW guess going bold fell back into classic hope they bring CJ and J back
XOXO Jennangelina  |

Hmm, not sure about him yet, But the tardis looks More retro! Like in the film Dr Who and the daleks. Apparantly the interior is getting a makeover!! Cant wait to see what its like!
Here's a few more photo's from the upcoming new season of DR WHO  Jerseygirl Jen
I'd be kinda leery about using a machine that had the word "tard" in its name. Just my 2 cents:)
I think the last two Doctor's have been sublime (Christopher Eccelstone and David Tennant), so Matt Smith has some big shoes to fill. I'm hoping he's going to be good for the role, although not holding my breath.
Matt Smith wasnt the person I was actually hoping for to be the next doctor, though. |
Robert Carlyle was one of the actors considered , but he is joining the new Stargate show.
I know the 3rd DR's son was also up for the role of the 11th DR  Jerseygirl Jen
So was Eddie Izzard , Jason Statham , James Nesbitt , Bill Nighy ( from underworld , not the science guy ) and the actor who played Dr. Moon in the library episode , he would have been the only black Doctor.
Patterson Joeseph would have been good for the role. I'm not the only one to have said that openly either, quite a few people have said he would have been good.
He hasnt really had any big time shows, but what he has starred in, he has been excellent. Survivors is his most recent TV series (I think), which was a great show |
Most long time DR WHO fans are never happy when a new DR takes over, No one was jumping for joy when David Tenent was announced to be the new DR but he won over most of the fans and is on most fans fav list ranking up there with Tom Baker  Jerseygirl Jen
I was only surprised that Christopher Eccleston only stayed for one season.

Hmmm Destro ... the Doctor ... I'd rather be type cast as the Doctor. Doctor Who has such a rich history and is cool. Destro , not so much. He was also the invisible man on Heroes.
I'm waiting for the 5th season a long time ago. Honestly, I don't like Matt Smith but Karen Gillan is pretty good choice. In fact she was in Dr. Who when the Doctor was with Donna and I'm talking about the episode where they go to Pompeii, she was with red robe. Too bad they didn't took that character of her and like the Doctor finds her and actually he'll have not normal human being, but that's just imagination, lol. So good luck to Matt, hope he'll not screw up the work, and I believe he wouldn't anyway. From the new series however the 9th Doctor played by Christopher Eccleston was the best. He played the role like THE DOCTOR. And I hope Karen Gillan wouldn't be the next love of the Doctor, it's too stupid again to entertain by love. Donna was different from Martha and Rose and that's what I liked. She was normal woman and no love between them, just trust and believe. Christina from Planet of the Dead however was the best companion so far but they screwed it up again when she kissed Tennant in the flying bus. A part from the kiss, she has the bus and maybe we'll see her again. Also I hope to see again Jenny, the Doctor's daughter and River Song.
I dont think that we will see River Song again ... at least on tv. They may make her adventures w/ the Doctor into a series of novels that would expand on the 10th Doctors stories. Remember she knew his name ... and he can only reveal his real name when ... ( i think during wedding vows )
Exactly, but it will be stupid with another spin-off. I mean other TV show like Sarah Jane's. Sarah Jane and Torchwood was enough and were really good. Anyway there were K9 spin-off also. I'm now thinking what would be the cause of the regeneration to the 11th Doctor. I don't think it'll be the Daleks one more time or the Cybermen. The Slitheens wouldn't be neither way, so what would be. However I'm looking forward to "Waters of Mars". If it's gonna be christmas special maybe there we'll see the regeneraion. Anyway glad that there are Doctor Who fans, lol.
Paul McGann was the 8th Doctor for just the one movie but the 8th Doctor was in several books. I dont see why Tennants Doctor cant continue in written form ... or animated form. And Jen i love your avatar , i changed mine back to 10 :)
But lets have theories ... When can the Doctor reveal his name? 1. Marriage 2. Sworn is as President 3. ??? |
That's the wonderfull thing about the current DR WHO novels the writers are free to use any of the 10 DRs for there story ,the last one i read had the 5th DR and NYSSA :inlove: Funny thing is before DR WHO was first aired on the sci-fi channel i found one of the DR WHO novels at the mall staring the 9th DR and ROSE so i had an idea of who the new DR and ROSE were 3 months before they were first aired here in the states  Jerseygirl Jen

And each Doctor is so unique as well. My top 3 are
10 4 5 |
Not bad RB but my top three are
My fave companions
Donna Noble Rose Tyler Sarah Jane Smith I really like redheads and Donna Noble was amazing " Isn't just wizard " Catherine Tate really was great as Donna. |
  RB ,Rose is number one barely topping NYSSA and i have to say PERRI is a close third tied with ROMANA1, DONNA was nice but not top 5 and i never liked SARAH-JANE  Jerseygirl Jen
Rose is his great love , yes. But my passion for Redheads outweighs all logic ... Donna Noble FTW ;)
Quote:
Both heads agree Redheads are hot. It's an attitude thing ... Donna was spunky and spirited. And as she travelled w/ the Doctor she became a better person ... less self centered and more compassionate.
Quote:
No thats not what i meant. Donna was a spitfire , she had a fiery temper and a take charge attitude. Brunettes have spirit ... your proof of that Jen. ;)
Quote:
Hrrrmmmm Ok but i have my faves and you yours. Any Donna fans here besides me? ;)
I kinda think Donna gets the same response as Martha got basicly it was you're not Rose, Rose was one of the all time fav compaions and was a hard act to follow  Jerseygirl Jen
Martha felt a little drab and flat to me. She had a more family centric life before meeting the Doctor , i mean we meet her entire family in the first five min. of series 3. And while traveling w/ the Doctor she realized how much she missed them and opted to not keep traveling. She was ok but like you said Rose was hard to follow ...
VOTE SAXON |
Every one is always listing there fav compaions but you never see the least fav compaions so here's my list of the compaions i didn't like and RB relax Donna is not on this list  Jerseygirl Jen
Thanks Jen ( better put away my plasma screwdriver ...
Doctor=Sonic Master=Laser Rocka=Plasma If only they really existed ... hmmm i remember a thread about what Sci-Fi item you would want ... i chose a TARDIS w/ sonic screwdriver... maybe that thread should regenerate. lol |
I'm beging to think this thread should be retitled just DR WHO  Oh on that sci-fi thread you mentioned forget the tardis i want two bionic legs and a bionic arm just call me the BIONIC WOMAN  Bionic Jen
I'll be sure to warn your man about the new and improved kung-fu grip of yours. lol
Steve Austin wasn't scared of Jamie's kung-fu grip but he was scared of her throwing a tennis racket  Jerseygirl Jen and fyi yes i play tennis
I bowl ... Tennis hmmm ... no i like my balls smooth and not fuzzy.
It's fun smacking balls around with a racket  Never bowled in my life oh fyi i prefer not having balls period  Jerseygirl Jen
Yeah but you got a nice pair of " CHESTICKLES " rotfl ;) later Jen.

Hmmm oh i'm sorry ( wipes away drool ) did you say something? I jus playin Jen :( Doctor Who Planet of the dead on BBC tonight! Torchwood - Children of Earth starts as well. :)
I'm assuming your refering to BBC AMERICA if so i'll check the listings and watch, Not a follower of Torchwood i've caught epsoides here and there but i can never seem to catch it week after week, Jerseygirl Jen
Oops yes BBC America :) my bad. Now if only they will start playing MI5 and Skins again ... and I would love to see Life on Mars again. I always hoped that they would play classic Doctor Who on tv again.
They never did air the second season of Life on Mars :frown: Jerseygirl Jen
Yeah they did but only once through , no re-runs. I saw the finale then they showed the first episode of Ashes to Ashes.
I missed it :( Hopefully it's aviable on DVD if not i'll check with a friend of mine since he's very good at finding tv shows not on DVD :innocent: Jerseygirl Jen
I think they had it on Amazon ... i dont know if it was region coded or not. The ending was a little ambiguous as to Sams fate ... but the writer summed it up ... i wont spoil it since you haven't seen it.
Last time i checked it was only aviable on region 2, :( Another show i'd love to get is Robin Hood the series from the 80s which only came here on VHS tapes and was episodes strung together :( Jerseygirl Jen
How about Highlander , i think some of it is on DVD but not all. Or Weird Science the tv series w/ Vanessa Angel ;)
I have the complete HIGHLANDER series on DVD thanks to Jason i think he has WEIRD SCIENCE but i'm not sure, I still have him checking for TARZAN staring RON ELY but still no luck :( :( Jerseygirl Jen
Here's a HIGHLANDER episode i bet you never saw  Jerseygirl Jen
And i thought there could be only one.
Actualy none of it still exists all there is a soundtrack and still photos called telsnaps so watching it is like watching a slide show but it's still pretty cool i also have the DALEKS MASTER PLAN with the meddling Monk  Jerseygirl Jen
I think that my favourite doctor and companion has to be, 4th doctor with sarah jane, purley because of my favourite episode, Genesis Of the Daleks!!
Just saw "Planet of the Dead" really good. I liked Christina , very spunky and cute. Now the wait begins for " The Waters of Mars" . :)

The Master reborn! John Simm returns as the Master and Timothy Dalton is in the last special ... hmmm maybe he is a new Timelord (or old one) or the next Master. Ooohh so exciting. :D

Check out www.whomix.trilete.net/?wmid=music for Doctor Who theme remixes. Some are awesome.
My two faves are
Dr. N.E.S. an old school game remix and look for 80's remix it's new wave who. |
I think something more in the line of ANTHRAX and there Judge Dredd song I AM THE LAW
 Jerseygirl Jen |
There is a metal who remix as well. :)
My luck it's by SLAYER  Jerseygirl Jen
Nah they are mostly fan remixes by amateur musicians but some are good.
Thay's a relief as i can't stand SLAYER, a friend of mine thinks they all the all time best and they give me a headach
 Jerseygirl Jen |
I hear ya Jen :)
Bruce Sprinfsten and the Rolling Stones are more my speed
 Jerseygirl Jen |
My taste is pretty diverse ... from Buddy Holly , Led Zepplin , ACDC , Bauhaus , the Cure , Misfits , right now my faves are Tiger Army and The Horrorpops. Give a listen if you got time or check out their videos. :)
Not much of a fan of AC/DC but i like there one song MONEY TALKS, love LED ZEP use to play them while i read a THOR comic book back in highschool but i love Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac
 Jerseygirl Jen |
Going to work , take care Jen ;) talk to you later bye :)
Going to work at 1 am, Haven't done that since i worked the graveyard shift at WAWA back when my nane wasn't Jennifer have fun bye
 Jerseygirl Jen |
I kinda like 3rd shift ... or just got used to it. Some times the old folks get up and wander the halls , have to take them back to their rooms and help Anna get their meds ready. Anyway Planet of the Dead is coming out on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Sounds like you work at a hosptial or nursing home, I liked the 3 rd shift to where i was at WAWA not much happend and it was never overly busy got to put the radio on any station i wanted to it was fun then but i'd hate to work that shift now
 Jerseygirl Jen |
Yeah , Nursing Home. :)
Not a big fan of BLU-RAY as i feel it's way over priced and over rated, I'll proably end up with one as i can't keep Eric away from em at WAL-MART
 Jerseygirl Jen |
Wal-Mart seems to be doing double packs w/ blu-ray ... example Mission Impossible 1 and 2 packed together and stuff like that. If blu-rays have so much more storage capacity, why not put the whole trilogy on one disc? I'm content w/ my DVD's and standard def tv. I'll upgrade when my tv dies.
I think it's the same reason VHS movies only had a single movie on em if you recorded in sp the picture quilty was better but you had less time on the tape sp only gave you two hours recording time instead of the six hours on lp mode
 Jerseygirl Jen |
Hmmm maybe or maybe they just want more money. Oh well i have way too many DVDs to ever try and upgrade w/ a blu-ray version ... although Lord of the Rings trilogy would be sweet edited into one loooonnnnggg film on blu-ray. ;)
No way it's allready 12 discs as it is, Yeah i have all three boxed sets, I think the LOTR is way better then STAR WARS
 Jerseygirl Jen |
