That's what pisses me off; I can't find it anywhere around here! :(

Amazon has the "20th" anniversary edition. Here's a link:

http://www.amazon.com/Tron-20th-Anni.../ref=pd_cp_d_0

I too remember it as a great movie! I would have been 10 or 11 when it came out--geeze that was a long time ago... Did they have computers back then? Used to own it on "VHS" as well.

Good luck with your search!

This is the movie that I remember most from back then...

Anyone else remember it?

Postman, you have no reason to envy me. I am an idiot. The version I meant was the 20th anniversary version, not the 25th anniversary version(which doesn't exist). Sorry about that.

A lil late but.....Sherlock Holmes was too much action and too little mystery. Love the Sherlock Holmes classic  TV series from Grenada TV.....

I agree. Clint Eastwood was excellent in that movie. It was one of the best movies I've seen in quite a while.:)

The Conquistador 02-11-2010 03:15 PM

Redbox is cool! Alot of the movies that I've seen on there were pretty good. I like that movie Carriers with Chris Pine.

Gran Torino, Taken and Edge Of Darkness are just full of awesomeness!:yes::yes:

So Edge Of Darkness ended up being a cool movie? Neat. I'll rent it when it comes out on DVD.:)

Any one looking forward to the new Robin Hood?

recent movies

Kids are up this weekend. Just saw Zombieland with Woody Harrelson. I give it an "A". Last week we watched Inglorious Basterds with Brad Pitt. Quentin Tarentino has a twisted mind. Dont twist History into fiction. Waiting to see Universal Soldier Regeneration...

How many Universal Soldier movies does that make now?

3 Universal Soldier movies.

It was a so-so movie compared to the others but I will say this; the ending fight scene between Van Damme and Lundgren is sweet! It was like 10 minutes of them punching and kicking the crap out of each other!

Kevin Costner ruined Robin Hood for me. Hopefully Russel Crowe does alot better.

I read a couple of reviewers say that the writing wasn't that great, but the actors performed quite well and made the movie more enjoyable. Would you agree with their assessment?

No because they kept it close to the O.G. so they really didn't have to write much they did change who the wolf man was from the O.G. but other than that it was out standing movie:)

Cool. Thanks for suggesting the movie. I will rent it when it comes out on DVD for sure.:)

Kakariko 02-26-2010 07:02 AM

I also watched The Wolfman a few days ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Also, the full trailer for the new Nightmare on Elm St movie is out and unfortunately it doesn't look too great. Really not a fan of Freddy's new voice :frown:

Kakariko 03-01-2010 09:41 AM

Some other interesting looking movies to look out for: Get Him To The Greek, Cop Out, From Paris With Love. The first two are comedies, while the latter is directed/written by the same guys who did District B13. Also, there's a sequel to District B13 in the works, called District 13: Ultimatum.

The Conquistador 03-01-2010 06:27 PM

Has anyone seen Pandorum?

I thought it was pretty good. Ben Foster is a good actor; I really liked him in this and 3:10 To Yuma.

I have not, but my Supervisor saw it and said it was really good. He said there were a lot of scary moments in it. I'll probably be giving it a rental soon. He also recommended Intacto(it is in subtitles and spoken in Spanish).

rockabilly 03-01-2010 09:44 PM

Pandorum is in a pile of dvd's i have yet to watch ...
Jennifers Body
Star Trek
9
Crank 2
Seraphim Falls
Wrong Turn 3
And Ben Foster was great in 30 Days of Night.

Wrong Turn 3? Sheesh! If they make one more wrong turn, they'll end up the place they started.;):p:lol:

I've not heard too many positive things about Jennifer's Body, so just a head-up rockabilly.

Star Trek kicks mega-ass! A great way to restart the franchise.:respect:

rockabilly 03-01-2010 09:54 PM

It's got an almost naked Meghan Fox in it ..... works for me. lol

I heard good things about Trek.

The Conquistador 03-01-2010 11:41 PM

The new Star Trek was badass!

Of course it is not all the intellectual chess game and diplomacy that made up most of the others so it is somewhat a "slap in the face" to the trekkie purists, but it is a great way to introduce newcomers to the world of Star Trek.

I can't wait to see Clash Of The Titans!!!:yes::yes:

The more I see the Alice In Wonderland commercials, the more I am inclined to think that it will be just another one of Tim Burtons usual play of "dark and/or slightly on an acid trip" that he always just overplays and repackages and people think it's the greatest thing in the world.

Not to sound like a sourpuss but it looks just like the motif from Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, 9 and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. C'mon Tim Burton!

I enjoyed Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, and Sleepy Hollow(I haven't seen the other movies you mentioned).:)

(and you're not a sourpuss because of your opinions, Postman. Nothing wrong with stating your opinion.:respect:)

A movie based off of a video game? Uwe Boll didn't direct this, did he?;)

I wanna see it but I have that sneaking suspicion that it will vaguely have anything to do with the game like Street Fighter, Dragon Ball or any other video game based movie. Hopefully Uwe Boll or Paul Anderson had nothing to do with the filming of this....

rockabilly 03-04-2010 08:11 PM

I just got "Clash of the Titans" on dvd and it includes a ticket to see the remake. :)

I am glad to see that I am not the only one that has no desire to see Uwe Boll's name attached anywhere near this movie.

My choice as the best film of last year, which is just being released in North America. Beware, it does have subtitles!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1235166/

The Conquistador 03-13-2010 06:02 PM

Well it's not a movie but I just picked up the 3rd season of Batman Beyond, which IMHO is the coolest Batman cartoon ever! :P

rockabilly 03-13-2010 09:48 PM

I watched "Bitch Slap" and "Cabin Fever 2".

Was Cabin Fever 2 a bad movie?

rockabilly 03-14-2010 01:45 AM

Cabin Fever 2 sucks.

It has none of the emotional attachment that was a key part of the original.

It relies on shock and grossout moments to move the plot along. To me none of the characters were memorable except the deputy who returns from the first movie.

The director wanted his name taken off the film because he felt the end product was a reflection of producer interference.
Watch the new remastered Cabin Fever when it gets re-released.

Thanks for the warning. I will try and steer clear of this steaming pile of poop.

From the way you describe it, it sounds like it is like Hostel. Hostel had no plot to speak of and was just a way to show as much gore as possible(the train part? Come on! I can suspend my belief for a movie, but that was way too far-fetched!). And they made a Hostel 2? Ugh.

No, a theatrical release on March 26. I saw a preview at the cinema when I went to see Sherlock Holmes around Christmas time.

You know, the cinema. The big room where they show movies on a big white screen. I heard they have a few of those in the greater Moose Plop, Ontario, metropolitan area, or wherever the hell you live.

It's got John Cusack -- a real movie star.

It may have ended up being that way since it had so much graphic content in it. It certainly sounded like it would be a good movie, but I never heard any comments about it.

Have you seen some of the movies John Cusack has been in?;) No guarantees with him, but I do enjoy the majority of movies I've seen him in. I cannot recall the name of the movie, but there is one where he takes the engine from the sports car of the "preppy jerk" and uses it on the group's boat to win the race. It was kind of cheesy(typical 80's fluff), but I enjoyed it.

Is that "Grandview, U.S.A"? I can't remember for sure. But he's made some really fine films, such as "Being John Malkovich," "Say Anything," "Eight Men Out," "Bullets Over Broadway, "High Fidelity" (my personal favorite), etc.

Nice dodge of the rest of my comment, my friend.
