Rain, Rain Go Away!
It's monsoon season here in San Diego and on top of that it is really fucking cold! I hate wet and freezing winters! Very miserable! I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't so damn cold. I'm lucky I didn't get testicular torsion just by stepping outside the house this morning. This is Cali; we're not suppoesd to get weather like this! Brrrrrrrrrrr!

It's not that...
It's just that crappy weather seems to follow me. When I was being mobilized for deployment in Killeen TX, there was a whole slew of thunderstorms that lasted for about 45 days; pretty much the whole time my unit was there. We had flash flood warnings daily and our barracks nearly got wiped out. The weather cleared once we left... When we touched down in Kuwait, half of my platoon nearly went to the hospital for dehydration. A couple people had to be sent back to the states because of heat stroke. When we got to Balad, the average temperature was 145 degrees. During winter, It snowed for the first time in Balad in 86 years. I got very sick and almost died over there. Most of the symptoms pointed to meningitis however when they drew a blood sample, my blood clotted within 15 seconds. A spinal tap determined I didn't have meningitis but they didn't know what was wrong with me. Ever since that, I have been very wary of unusually weird weather. Bad shit seems to happen when the weather gets funky.

It certainly does sound like bad weather follows you. I can understand your feelings. I've been to the Middle East, but fortunately I've never experienced the heat that you described. I've never been through 45 days of thunderstorms either and I sure don't want to.

Come on up north Tracy. I can't guarantee weather like this all winter though. It may suddenly warm up to about -10C in January or the temperature could suddenly plunge down to -40C. I can guarantee that if you go to Churchill, in the winter, you will experience -40C and a blistering windchill. Churchill is on the shore of Hudson Bay and it's always windy there. For something different try going north of the arctic circle in January to experience total darkness for the complete day. It's something I never gave much thought to until I experienced it.
