Looks like Arnold is going to break the Republican mold one more time and vote on making marijuana legal in cash-strapped California this November.

Arnie is one Republican that I actually have some respect for because he deviates from the party-mold enough that I feel like he is a free-thinker. I certainly hope the state votes to legalize it. That would be a great victory for civil liberty.

The technology to growing pot plants has skyrocketed since the sixties, as you know if you've read a High Times in the last few years. One reason they want to legalize it in California is that there are so many little Pot Farms now, it's become part of the economy.

Hell yeah. If they legalized pot, I guarantee that it would bring us out of this deficit that we have here. Most don't realize how big of a contribution to the California economy pot is in the USSC.

I thought medical pot was already legal in california ? Are you talking about totally legalizied, I hope so, when I was looking for a job I couldn't smoke and I was so depressed. If this is true I guess I'm moveing to the west coast !

Only "medicinal" pot is legal and only so in certain areas; not the whole state. You need to have a valid prescription and a card that says you are authorized a certain amount. Any more than that and you will be arrested.

I'm up and down with this. I live in So. Cali.

So, now you can socially smoke it out in the open. Is there going to be areas in which you are allowed to smoke it? Or, do all the laws fly out the window..

It has nothing to do with Weed is safer then... Now, it's ok for our kids to do drugs I guess!!


But, yes. Tax it. Use those TAX DOLLARS for correct things and not for war and another way for someone to get a raise.. Fix this messed up roads we have. More parks. Schools, etc.

I've heard it has no chance of passing, just because of these kind of questions, but I imagine if it did you would have hash licenses like you have liquor licenses. Besides the taxes, the TOURISM bucks would be great!!!!
I wouldn't mind putting a few Mexican Drug Lords out of business either.

For me, I would be thrilled to see Yankee inginuity put to good use devoloping the perfect THC blend. Just imagine........
