Probably suggested before, but....
Bionca's "Should I do porn" thread, as well as several requests for pics of myself, and a few shots posted by others here made me think.
Do we have enough willing members here to make a "Gurls of transladyboy" calendar? Would it be successful? How many would buy one? It would allow tasteful, flattering pictures of several of us (Like Bionca, Fran, Jen, etc.) to be published in a way we control for anyone who wanted to buy. We could give any proceeds from sales of one to one of the many transgender support group charities out there, too. |

Assuming the support of those who would pose, I think it could be a great and fun way to raise money and awareness -- especially if the pictures were accompanied by good text that spoke to the important issues that the gurls have raised. I would be happy to help in any way (as a writer/editor who makes his living doing such things).
This reminds me of that wonderful British movie "Calendar Girls" with Helen Mirren, based on a true story! These middle-aged women made a calendar, with no full nudity, made a lot of money for charity, and rocked the British Isles! |

It would be a good idea for a calender of our ladies here in the forum and it could be only sold for trusted members for example.
I will be the first to buy it :P, not necessarly naked pics either, sexy pics are enough :D |

Bold suggestion
I'm not actually a Transgender - still the gender I was born with - so I don't think I'd qualify, even if I was de-privatised enough to go for it. I think it's a novel idea - hope you get a good response.

I'd buy one!
I also know a great photographer, but I doubt he'd be willing to travel to shoot everyone, and I also doubt the girls would like to travel to Toronto to pose. |

If they included the 'trusted' TG's here I would very likely buy two copies. The thing to wonder is who would benefit, how is are the proceeds divided. Or would proceeds go to a civil defense fund. Great idea though.

But that's the REAL cost -- printing it wouldn't necessarily be cheap, and keep in mind there's shipping costs to have the final calendars delivered to you in bulk, followed by the costs of mailing them out to whoever bought them. All of THAT is what will add up very quickly. Instead, I would suggest you do the same idea, but as a web site. Different host companies are even offering free space these days (so you have no cost there), and then you could set up a paypal system (again which wouldn't cost you anything) where people would pay the equivalent OF buying the calendar to access the site and to be able to download the calendar photos. Plus, if you ran it that way, across the course of several months or the year, you could update the site with more new photos and charge a new fee all over again -- and thus you'd be continually making money for your chosen charity. Anyway, just a thought... |
