There is plenty of discussion on this site regarding the question of whether people who look at porn are "only getting a sexual thrill at the expense of someone's dignity." Do a search.

As for your question in the thread title, reposed in the text, one wonders why you specify "porn stars"?

I have a close transwoman friend who recently decided that she prefers orchi to SRS. Perhaps she will change her mind at some point in the future, but of course there are transwomen who may choose to keep their penises irrespective of the issue of the cost of surgery. That this is so points to a larger issue that seems to be forgotten time and again in posts on this site -- that transwomen are not some monolithic type, all falling into lockstep one with another, but in their interests, ways of life, political positions, views of self, and so on, they are as varied as any other group within the population.

Oh, and by the way (since Jodie will probably chime in on this topic when she's back online), some of them even live in states like Michigan.

I think it involves not just the desire to have the vagina, but also the issue of the fear of not being able to feel the same physical pleasure anymore and, for adult entertainers, the issue of loosing work. Many tgirls say no the SRS, but does it really mean they would rather have a penis than a vagina? Would they say no if offered a magical opportunity to go back in time and alter their birth genitals before being conceived?

Last few years up to 12 months ago - no to SRS, well maybe 5% chance

its a preferance and also very expensive to do teh full change... the only other choice is to go over seas...

It's all relative TBH.
When compared to the full cost of my FFS,
SRS surgery costs are small and certainly wouldn't worry me.
Especially as the SRS costs are similar to the cost of a small new car.
It's no big deal for any ts in steady employment, AND able to save/get a loan*.




*being a ts can bugger this up.
I've a friend who came out of a marriage when they transitioned.
Their ex wife had a poor credit history, so the mortgage and loans were all in my friends name.
After the marriage collapsed, they were solely responsible for said loans.
Their current job is minimum wage so they have no chance to save
and are just about able to service said loans.
So, they would not be considered for a further loan, by anyone.
