Avatar photo ethics
Is it ok to use a pic of another person,
without their permission? Even more so, is it ok to use the photo of a Day-1 female who knows nothing of you stealing her pic? The reason I ask is that lots of people use pics of ts porn models and I would guess its without their permission. A few even use Day-1 female pics, which is EXACTLY WHAT I WANT TO DO, if it's ok and doesn't upset anyone. What do you lot think? |

It's completely ethical to use pictures of pornstars as a avatar because these people put these pictures up knowing that everyone can have access to it. If you stole a photo from someone who hasn't posted it up on the internet, then that is unethical.

So now I'm relegated to wondering how I can manage to stay up all night, every night, so I'm never thwarted again. My avatar, by the way, has been officially sanctioned by the celebrity Day-1 guy whose t-shirt is featured. The heart is actually a cartoon version of the heart operated on in an early experimental heart transplant by the famous Dr. Denton Cooley, and I pay a small royalty to his estate each month in exchange for permission to use it. It is a small inconvenience, but my "I wear my heart on my sleeve" avatar has served me well here for nearly 4,000 posts. |

How I got mine
Of course I'm one of those s !
Although I tend to rabbit on pretty harmlessly, my lagomorphic communication skills are strictly limited, so I had to resort to the unethical measure of threatening my Avatar with a quick dose of myxomatosis ( transmitted species-specific STD ) and Hey Presto ! Immediate Avatar availability. I let him have a carrot by way of compensation, and he responded by giving me a hard-on ( albeit a very small one ) ! So, Thanks Bugs Bunny, and good munching ! Can't think why he made that comment though ( or can I ?) Keep at it like rabbits, folks ! to all. |

That?s a difficult question.
If it?s noticeable a fan approval, like a porn star in a porn forum, I don?t think there is a big problem even without permission. It becomes difficult where the boundary to identity theft is, or an improper use begins. If being fan of someone or something (e.g. Mel Gibson/ Mel Gibson Movies) generates a bad connection to an e.g. racist behaviour (like Eric Cartman tries to annihilate the Jews, I like South Park), then the use would be problematic. Legal aspects are difficult in the internet, because the copyright law and use of photos is not the same worldwide. I know I took and changed my Avatar without permission, but I don?t make money with it or generate bad connection to the original owner (I think), so no one would complain about it. But what can be found in the internet is not free to use everywhere. |

My Avatar has to stay, as Fran would kick my ass if I dared to change it to something else(besides I like it).
