John,
Yes my friend a new *GOOD* therapist made a world of difference thank you for suggesting moving to a new one since the old one was kinda a jerk (and more expensive!) I will be able to write more often now that I have gotten into the swing of things at my community college and new responsiblities at work as well. The only thing really concerning me is financing school and my transition but it is working out all right so far so fingers crossed I will still be able to save up before I transfer up North! Also, I was trying to think of a new name since Dani or Danielle is a little too close to my birth name for comfort...let me know what you think should it be more mainstream like Donna or Jane, etcetera or more different like Dierdre (which is one of my Gaelic names picked.) or Henriette? Hope to get some good input. And I promis no more long lapses of communication! D |

Hi there.
Renaming yourself? Ok, but i got used to Dani, also as William Shakespear said: "What's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet". And you do ansewer to it, but then it would make the change more real to you and to all those around you. Unfortunately, i don't know you very well, so i can't say you look like a xxx or a yyy. But some names i like: Sandra, my tv name. Anna, my favorite Tekken character (yes the fighting game) Lynda, as in Lynda Carter, who played Wonder Woman on tv from 1975 to 1979. Susie, a realy girly name. Joelle, my first girlfreind... JohnDowe. |

I hope that disappointment isn't what my future relationships are based upon but I suppose everyone gets disappointed sometime!

Jen,
I have picked out a few names that I like and similar to your method of finding a name a friend of mine keeps calling me Olivia which I like but not for the reasons she does!!! TSlust, I understand that and interestingly enough since I am still very masculine I have run into a few good guys and some other interested in thrills! They both have their places I suppose! Thank you guys for the feedback on some of the issues I am facing. Dani |

Why DOES she call you Olivia, and why do you like it? Funny thing, when i took the name Sandra as my TV name, it was because of Olivia Newton John's character in the movie "Grease", if you are curious about me, you can go in the "General discussion" section, and look at the "Fear VS Respect" Thread. Citoyen, that is very true!
The reason that my friend calls me Olivia is because of William Shakespeare's Hamlet. Olivia is to be Hamlet's wife and after losing her mind commits suicide! She jokes that Olivia is my new name because of my "sudden" (in her opinion) change of mind...obviously as my friend she wishes me no ill-will...but still. I think I may have found a name that fits my personality, interests, and heritage but again. I am not even truly living part time so I am not going to box myself into one name! Jen, that is so great!!! Congrats to you and Eric! I wish you guys the best! Dani |

Choosing a name is a big step. I'm partial to these names...
1. Sarah ( current flame ) 2. Willow ( from Buffy the Vampire Slayer ) 3. Caitlyn 4. Anna 5. Donna I'm lucky as my name is Billy , I can readily change it depending on my mood... 1. William 2. Will 3. Liam 4. Bill :D |

Hey guys,
I know it has been a while but I thought I would let you all know that things are going great and I kinda dropped off the planet because I transferred from a community college to a University. I am happy to announce that I have some changes from HRT and a wonderful therapist and I hope to keep going. ON the names...I decided on Madeline...Dunno I just fell in love with it and my therapist like it too. Just felt right! Hope everyone is doing as fine as I am! Madeline. |

It is Dani...I just changed my username.
Hey everyone!
Again I am back and I changed my username and I was wondering if any M2F had good references for support groups. I am having trouble finding any here and I kinda need some guidance. Thanks and I will update more often! Maddy! |

A year later she was chatting about a recent visit I'd made to them. She confided to my mum "If you didn't know Misha before, you would never know she was not born a woman" It will all come together. Support groups http://www.tvchix.com/forum/index.php The forums have lots of Ts's offerring advice help ect. http://www.nuttycats.co.uk/furry/about_us.php Ts only support group You will be heavily vetted. Don't mention my name, Misha, as they kicked me out after 3 years there! Some knowledgeable Ts's there, but the site owner & two of the mods have severe mental issues {Their own theads talk about that} So just a heads up, still worth joining as the medical forum section is superb. http://www.gendertrust.org.uk/n2/p01.php?id=2 uk based tg support group http://www.gires.org.uk/ uk educational support...great leaflets you can download, which you can give to others to help them understand about this tg /ts thing http://www.amazon.com/True-Selves-Un...4785217&sr=8-1 A great book which does the same. I bought for my parents. Mum read it twice & found it hugely helpful both for herself & when chatting with dad about it all. Dad is really supportive to me as well, but not really into reading non-fiction books. Anyway there's some stuff to be going on with. Also, despite this site being called transladyboy (to my surprise & delight) it has some good people on it. Ts's who talk sensibly, the mods are really good & on this forum, a lot of the men also come across as supportive. In between the sex threads there are some really useful threads for you. Hugs, Misha. xxx Last edited by JodieTs; 05-25-2010 at 06:16 AM. |
