It was this picture on the cover of one of your "Opera News" magazines that did it.

Another early crush for me we Elvira. She started my love of goth looks too. Angelica Huston as Mortica Addams in the 90's Addams Family movies had a similar effect on me.

Growing up in the 90's also meant I had a lot of exposure to 90's video game advertising. Hooray for booth babes, scantily clad heroines, and polygon boobs.

One of the recurring themes in this thread is the general sexiness of women's fashion from the 60's and 70's especially compared to today. Like anything, there are exceptions. Dove Cameron IMHO would be one of the most beautiful women in the world no matter what era she lived in. And it works both ways as someone like Christie Brinkley (in her 60's) is still gorgeous today.

Hard to believe the newest picture in this post is probably more than 40 years old... Older than most members of TLB. Much older than me as I'm "29."

Hope you enjoy these beauties.

(The first pic was identified as "Elaine Taylor." An actress from the 1960's who is married to the actor Christopher Plummer.)

And no "retro" thread of mine would be complete without this ad...

From 1978. I know because I discovered this magazine many years later in my Dad's collection and took it to my room... To read about cars of course. What did you think?

(Don't know who she is. I would guess she's about 24 or 25 here which would make her 65 today. She's probably a very nice person and a grandmother. Why would I still like to fuck her silly? )

Retro time again. I remember seeing this movie from the 1960's on TV as a kid. Who could resist a title like that?

The Triumph is pretty cool and that is Diane McBain as the "leader" of the gang. Maybe she'd like to go for a ride with me on my Harley sometime?

Very beautiful, she never got the roles or recognition she deserved. I have seen her in other movies from the 50's and 60's.

As hot as I think styles were for women in the 60's and 70's unfortunately I cannot say the same about men's clothing. I was seriously trying to decide which (if any) of the outfits pictured I would feel comfortable wearing.

I would be intrested in hearing from other guys (especially those who were around back then) about what they actually wore. Or would wear if this look came back.

My dad for example did infact own several "lesiure suits," wide ties, double knit pants, and even white shoes which he wore to work at General Motors. I am a "bigger" guy and think some of the clothing pictured would look hilarious on me. And at 6'4" I don't know what I would do with "platform" shoes. They remind me of "Kiss."

As a teenager and into my early 20's I wore "Tommy Hilfiger" stuff all the time. Also Ralph Lauren "Polo" shirts and khakis. It might as well have been a uniform... Of course that was the late 90's-2000's. They probably look silly today...

I tend to dress fairly conservatively nowadays and have been told by many that I always dress well or "look good."

(Of course I am planning to wear that green "leisure suit" on my date with Dove Cameron. I'm sure she will not be able to resist. )

"Grand Prix" (1966) featured the "ridiculously beautiful" Françoise Hardy as the girlfriend of one of the drivers. The first time I saw it was in the mid 90's. I happened to see it again on TV recently, an excellent movie about auto racing albeit "dated" as far as modern technology (especially in 2018). Grand Prix starred James Garner (who did most of his own driving during filming ).

Françoise, however, was about 50 years ahead of her time.

Was just reading an article about a new show called “Everything Sucks” on Netflix about teenagers. Assumed it meant today’s generation. Had to laugh when I learned it was set in 1996! OMG! Time for the nursing home... Will probably watch it anyway just to see how “accurate” it is. Might be fun. Here are six reasons why the 90’s and 1996 in particular did NOT suck.

6. Alicia Silverstone
5. Helen Hunt
4. Sharon Stone
3. Cindy Crawford
2. Jennifer Aniston

And the main reason 1996 totally did not suck:

1. Dove Cameron was born

(Re: "Clueless" pic. Had a phone just like that. "As If!" )

Hmmm....I think my #1 reason for 1996 not sucking was the release of "I'm Moving On" by Cece Peniston

The first couple photos is how she looked then. The last one is from last week! She's still so beautiful and sexy!!

CeCe is also a good reason...

Probably long before any of us on here were around. Back in the 1950's, years before there were "Hippies," there were "Beatniks." Some of the women look kind of hot. Looks like fun. You learn something everyday. I never realized sex existed before 1979...

(Yes, I'm joking. Thinking of throwing a "Beatnik Party" sometime especially if the girl in the striped top, miniskirt, and stockings will be my date. Maybe Dove Cameron will wear that for me? )

Found a great site discussing both Women's and Men's fashions from the past. It even links to sites that offer these styles (although updated) today. Including Big and Tall sizes.

https://vintagedancer.com/1960s/1960s-mens-clothing/

Of course Sean Connery makes this all look good.

Barbara Bouchet from "Casino Royale" (1967) a spoof of James Bond films--not to be confused with the 2006 movie of the same name starring Daniel Craig as 007.

Jean Shrimpton, Françoise Hardy, Diane McBain, Julie Newmar, and now Barbara? Was I born in the wrong time or what?

One more post then I gotta go workout. It's 27 degrees F in Indianapolis plus snow. What a Spring Break...

Anyway finding this warmed me up. I noticed my friend from the 1978 Pro-Trac tire ad is featured...

God, I really was born in the wrong time...

(Maybe looking at pictures of Dove Cameron will make me think otherwise? )

Jane Seymour. One of the many TV's at our gym was playing an "infomercial" featuring Jane. I still remember her from "Live and Let Die (1973)."

"The Avengers." Another 60's show that had a beautiful star (who was somehow always getting tied up... ). Diana Rigg as "Mrs. Peel."

(Was thinking they should remake it with Dove Cameron as "Mrs. a9127." )

Excellent! I had forgotten about Miss Emma Peel. I certainly like Joanna Jet's take on the role!

So do I.

Another beautiful and popular actress from the 60's was Barbara Feldon otherwise known as "Agent 99" on Get Smart.

My wife often asks me "Why are you so obsessed with cars and auto racing?"

Seriously, I don't know how to answer... Or if I even should...

The first pic is from October 1974 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

My all-time favorite "car girl" is the middle one. From a tire ad in a 1978 magazine that I just "happened" to borrow from my dad's collection sometime in the early 90's...

Of course, my favorite actress in a racing movie is Françoise Hardy from “Grand Prix” (1966). She was also known as a very popular and talented singer at the time. Something I only learned recently. That picture of her standing on the back of the car is just too cute!

My dad remembers someone named Linda Vaughn (below, right), better known as “Miss Hurst” at an event from 1972!

She’s unbelievalbly gorgeous. That first picture is “perfection.”

Thanks for sharing these. The university where I teach is having a formal “end of year” fundraising dinner in downtown Indy later this week. It’s “black tie” and $50,000 a table (someone very rich sponsors them, usually a business). Hélio Castroneves (3X Indy 500 winner, “Dancing With the Stars,” etc.) is going to be our Guest of Honor.

It would be awesome if Dove could attend with me (better go rent a tux just in case) but I’m afraid of losing her to Hélio… Or we could go to “The Eagles Nest.” It has been called Indy’s “most romantic restaurant.” Always a good place to take that special someone around here. That’s why it shows up in my “stories” so often. Or there’s also “St. Elmo’s.”

Dove is gorgeous!

I have no doubt she's the favorite in the "Divas!"thread- especially with her purple hair! I just love her as "Mal". A couple of months ago I was somewhere and saw her on a poster for "Descendents 2". I wanted to take it home with me she's so hot!

We watched this over at a friends in late 1990. His dad traveled a lot and we used to watch VHS tapes (anyone remember those?) in their rec room. They had an "ancient" 3 beam projection TV so it was sort of like a theater. Great place to hangout for a bunch of kids.

Julia Roberts herself no doubt belongs in the "Divas" thread but I thought the movie belonged here mostly because of the influence she had on me when I was very young. She was one of my first huge "crushes."

More 70's fashion. From Pinterest.

Nice. Wonder who she is?

Jesus God. OK. Get me a time machine. Now.

I've always hated disco. Maybe I should rethink that?

Farrah! One of my biggest crushes of all time. The old Nike's are cute too. RIP Beautiful Angel.

Very sexy. Just need to get rid of the two asshole losers.

Doesn't do anything for me but my cat's gone into heat...

(I think my new girlfriend sitting on the car may be a "modern" retro pic. But who cares...)

More vintage Levi’s ads. According the the site I got these from, some ads were never used because of the censors. Wonder which ones?

Yes, I know where you were looking… So was I.

Supposed to be from 1964. Does it look like it’s a more modern ad to you?

Can’t read it but the girl is super hot. Guy on the right looks too old for her. Can’t complain about the other guy’s hair. Great style!

Didn’t know my mom was in a Levi’s ad when she was a teenager.

Saving the best for last. Guess which two probably didn’t make it past the censors? This one must have been for the US “Bicentennial” in 1976.

Bet everyone would have remembered this ad. (Mom: “Andy? Why are the pages in my ‘Women’s Day’ stuck together?” Me: “Gotta get to football practice mom. Bye!”)

Those (or they) are real Levi's and it shows.

(No, I didn't need a translation program.)

They are probably cringey and offensive by today's standards, but when I was a kid, I was always drawn to those episodes of Maury and Jerry Springer where they did the whole "man or woman" thing. I haven't thought about it in a while, but those were probably some of my first exposure to anything trans related.

Don’t know what made me go search for this today but I did. “Miracles Still Happen” is the true story of Juliane Koepcke a teen-age girl who survived a plane crash in the Amazon jungle, Christmas 1971. She is still alive today and is a Mammalogist.

It must have been on TCM. Late at night, alone in my room, going through the channels, the previews looked intriguing (A really cute blonde in a very short and torn dress wandering through a jungle all wet and sweaty? What boy could resist?) The actress who played her, Susan Penhaligon, was 24 or 25 at the time, so the pics from the movie should be OK to post.

Anyway, I’m pretty sure my Mom was asleep, but I locked the door to my room just in case. You get the idea… Since then I have seen Susan in other movies. She was very beautiful and a good actress.

(Tragically, about two or three years before I saw this movie, Detroit had one of the worst airline disasters in US history when an MD-82 crashed on takeoff. Ironically the only survivor was a young girl. For many years you could see the new section of I-94 where it had come down. I would make my first flight a few years later on the same runway. I was scared shitless then I thought about this movie and that night. My Mom said to my Dad: “Andy must like flying, look at how he’s smiling…” )

They pretty much don't do shows like that anymore but I used to enjoy them, especially Maury's "male or female"episodes where he'd had have ten sexy ladies on and the audience would guess their birth gender. Some of my favorite ladies made appearances on those shows. I imagine shows like that turned a lot of straight guys on to how amazing and sexy tgirls can be!

“Jungle Movies” are probably one of the places where guys experience scantily-clad beautiful women for the first time. Another movie I remember was “Sheena” starring Tanya Roberts.

“Sheena” was one of the first VHS rentals my mom got for me. I guess she thought it was all right since it was rated “PG” or something. There is a scene early in the movie where Tanya is topless taking a shower under a waterfall. She also is bound and almost thrown from a helicopter by bad guys. Never told my mom about that…

“Miracles Still Happen” is a good movie. I guess I should’ve felt guilty jacking off over a girl who just lost her family in a plane crash but when you are a kid you don’t stop to think about stuff like that. Anyway, I just thought Susan was really cute and sexy and well… you know. I watched the whole thing and was glad she was finally rescued. At the time I didn’t know it was based on a true story. Never have seen it since—she must have made a big impression on me that I would still remember her today. Sort of like your first girlfriend…

Out of curiosity I looked her up yesterday and discovered her son is older than me. And that is a true story about Detroit and my first plane ride. As we were headed down the runway, I thought about Susan (not the crash in the beginning of course) and it made me feel better. Since then I have flown more times than I care to remember. On business, with my college football team, and with my family on vacation.

"Pulp" magazines from the 1930's. Very risque. And these are just the ones I decided to post. There were far worse ones. Wonder how this stuff made it past the censors back then?

(I don't think it was considered "porn." You could probably buy it anywhere. You know guys beat off to this. Hell, I'm thinking about beating off to the blonde on the cover of the first one. By the way, excuse me for a sec... )

I think my taste switched, when I realised that in the vast majority of cases; the traditional idea of a "female/girl" turns me on, but they don't know how to fuck in bed.
Sex is almost always viewed from the lens of the guy.
But as a guy it's kina boring not having an equal in the bedroom.
It does happen, but I find tgirls much more sexually in tune with their desires and drives and...just everything.

I think many of us transexual admirers enjoy the thought of a lady that can give as good as she gets...and then some!

You are right. I'm sure we could find cave drawings depicting the same thing from the earliest humans.

By the way the "green guy" tying the girl to the table (middle pic, second row) has got some arms on him. He must workout. Just needs a makeover and also needs to work on his "social skills" and improve his approach to women.

Hope members feel encouraged to post whatever to this thread. It's all good.

You learn something new everyday. I was curious about the more “explicit” and “violent” covers that I did not post in particular and did some research. In Hollywood, there was something called the “Hays Code” that was followed from 1930 until the late 1960’s. It governed what could be shown (and said) in movies produced in the United States. I guess that’s why you don’t hear the word “motherfucker” or see nudity in 1940’s or 50’s movies.

There was a similar “Comics Code.” I’ve attached the “official” seal of approval below. I have seen this before and never really gave it any thought. It all makes sense now:

Quote:
Controversy over comic books surfaced shortly after their debut in the 1930s. The first group to object to comics was educators, who saw comics as a bad influence on students’ reading abilities and literary tastes. They filled professional journals with suggestions on how to wean their pupils from superhero tales. Comic books also represented a threat to their authority – for the first time, children could select their own leisure reading material.

Church and civic groups added their members’ voices to protests. They objected to “immoral” content such as scantily clad women in jungle comics and the glorification of villains in crime comics. The Catholic Church’s National Office of Decent Literature added comics to the materials it evaluated.

In postwar America, a new focus on juvenile delinquency drew a third group into the debate over the effects of comics – mental health experts. Among them was Dr. Fredric Wertham, a noted New York City psychiatrist, who campaigned to ban the sales of comics to children. He argued that children imitated the actions of comic book characters and that the content desensitized children to violence.
Anyway, back to my “girlfriend” on the first cover. I couldn’t help noticing how her stockings were rolled down exposing her (very sexy) thighs and did anyone else notice how the anchor was “strategically” placed between her legs? Also she is tied tightly around the waist and her arms are tied over the top of the anchor so her boobs are thrust out. Coincidence? I think not.

Her “rescuer” appears to have only 3 fingers (where’s his pinky?) and the gun is not in line with his arm. Next shot he’s gonna miss and shoot her in the ass.

Porn was pretty much underground for decades. Guys used to have to have make do with pin-up girls and Super 8 films before centerfolds and VHS tapes. Now we have tons of options for adult entertainment!

The "damsel in distress"theme has always been pretty common male fantasy I think and the artwork for pulp magazines and comics is testament to that. Personally I grew up reading comic books and it seemed like all the superheroines were beautiful with skin tight and reavealing costumes showing off their assets. No wonder I got a thing for strong and sexy ladies!

I hoping that they cast Mis Ultra Nate' as Storm in the next X-Men movie!

Still have my dad's "Super 8" camera and projector. I don't remember it having sound. Maybe it was just "standard" 8mm? That's what he used to document the "Blizzard of 1978." No porn though.

Posters were a big thing in the 80's and 90's. I had the "full length" poster of Heather Thomas on the back of my bedroom door (maybe like '90?). And of course I had my share of Playboy, Penthouse, and Hustler magazines hidden in my room.

We used to go to a friends to watch "R" rated and "Adult" VHS movies. His dad traveled a lot and his mom worked. They had an early three beam "projection" TV in their basement. Awesome place to hangout!

Looking forward to seeing Ultra Nate as Storm. Great casting!

The beautiful Miss Ultra would be perfect! She even did an album called "Hero Worship" in 2010. Even today she still dons her super=heroine costume! Seriously- I hold this lady in the highest regard. I've been following her career since the early '90s but it's only recently I've come to appreciate how hard she works and just how spectacularly beautiful she is!!!!

In the 80s and 90s you hd analog porn, magazines and videotapes. It's completely different now. Back then you actually had to go somewhere and buy or rent your entertainment, which also carried with it the weird thrill of the clerk knowing how you got your jollies. There were also peep shows and X-rated theaters but they were always kind of sketchy.

I found about t-girl porn through the back room at the local mom and pop video store. They had an incredible selection of porn, all displayed in those giant VHS boxe that porno tapes used to come in. They were jammed in so tight they were literally stacked on the floor and falling off the shelves. The boxes also weren't sorted at all so all the different porn genres were spread throughout. In most place, there was a "gay"section where the transsexual porn usually was (and still is). Not being gay, I never checked those sections out.

Once in the mid 90s I found Karen Dior's "Married With Shemales", a take off of the popular sit-com "Married With Children", and her take on the Peg Bundndy character got me all hot and bothered. I took the tape hope, saw her dick, freaked out, and took the tape back as soon as possible.

A couple years later, while browsing the adult section section of that same video store, I saw beautiful Gia Darling on the cover of "Transsexual Heartbreakers Five"and got all hot and bothered. I took the tape home, saw her dick, freaked out, and took the tape back as soon as possible. The difference was now I had an internet connection at home and stumbled on to Bob's T-Girls while searching for Gia on line a few days later. I had never heard of the term "t-girl"before but Bob's site opened a whole world for me. I never knew there were so many beautiful ladies with cocks and it turned out I like seeing cocks more than I ever liked seeing vaginas. Everything changed that Sunday afternoon in February 2003.

That video store is no longer ther but Bob's site is and t-girl porn has become a huge business along with the growing acceptance of transsexuals.
