Default Cancer

It seems logical castration would make testicular cancer impossible, but prostate cancer might be less likely after the surgery. There are no guarantees. There are a couple of other concerns which haven't been addressed in this thread. What about loss of strength and osteoporosis? You have to ask yourself if you are doing this for real medical reasons or is it just a sexual fantasy. If it is a sexual fantasy, once the testosterone is gone, the fantasy might be gone too. They don't grow back. On the other hand, some find it pleasing not to see them anymore, and that might be reason enough. If you search the web, you might find some photos of people who have performed self-castration. Most of the results are not pleasing to the eye. Hot flashes and night sweats might be another side effect to be considered. It is almost like a genetic female going through menopause. If you can still perform sexually, you might find you just aren't interested anymore.

Very few doctors will perform this surgery on an elective basis, and of course your medical insurance won't pay for it. These are only some of the problems to consider. There are a some advantages too, but somebody else might want to take a turn at listing them.
