Yours is an interesting rationale for using the term. It might be worth examining what other terms you would feel comfortable using based on how they are used elsewhere or by others. I am not drawing a conclusion, only suggesting food for thought.

In any case, I hope my friend Bella Bellucci, who is a member of this site and does occasionally post, will enter the fray and explain how the term "shemale" became widespread on the Web, who was largely responsible, and whose interests it served.
