If I remember right - zombies were made by using zombie powder which was some kind of poison like extract from frogs? or fish??? Anyway... has anyone seen a movie along these lines that is differant from the old bite ya - poof - your'e a zombie too now.????
Actually they made The Serpent and The Rainbow into a movie. It starred a very young Bill Pullman. The toxins supposedly used to make zombie powder are poison from the pufferfish(in less than lethal amounts of course) and some kind of powder that has the effect of making you very succeptible to suggestion.

Alot of White Zombie and Rob Zombies music is based after the old pre-Romero version of hypnotized/voodoo zombies. Hell, even the groups name comes from an old B-rated horror film called "White Zombie".
