I would never speak for franalexes, so I won't characterize the basis for her agreement with me. I will clarify my point, though. My statement that the statement is insulting is not about the fact that people do all sorts of things for money. It was that samshap, despite acknowledging that the example "is a rare case," implies a "yes" answer to the original question that begins the thread. And samshap does it in a matter-of-fact way. The insult to transwomen is the failure to point out that what samshap describes is a form of exploitation. It seems hardly about gender identity at all. It is about exploitation, exploitation, exploitation.
