I'm not a fan of either of those games, Diablo one got boring pretty quickly for me (haven't tried the second yet though) and I'm a fan of the Age of Empires when it comes to RTS games but I have to agree, SC is not too bad.
I hope so too.
I'm not sure about the main character but I'll see if he turns out to be okay in November.

If you like stealth-action games I suggest you try the Thief games too, they are awesome.
