I have old Acoustic Research turntables; an Advent reel-to-reel; one of the early Adcom CD players with the bias switch on the back for filtering out the highs of, say, choral music; a Luxman tuner; a Macintosh amp and pre-amp; etc. Fewer bells and whistles, more quality sound.

And for me, the music is everything. Unlike some gear-heads, I would rather hear a crappy sounding great performance of music than crystal-clear crap! (I listen mostly to classical music, so this matters a lot.)
