Yes Sir, VERY terrifying and under pressure... the problem is that surrendering to all these forces pressuring them from the outside more often than not makes them make devastating decisions.

The mistake is that they SHOULD let the hormones kick in - and let the child develop its own gender-identity. No operations, they can be done later. And as we know, hormone-therapy can easily make up for the natural hormonal production at a later time.

Unfortunately, I believe that the worry of such parents has less to do with the well-being of the child than the embarrassement of having born a "freak". So they make quick decisions based on poor medical judgement by doctors who don't know much about gender issues.

But so be it - hopefully this will change with more focus on the issue.
