One of the signs of a truly great artist is knowing when to quit. Lucas created one of the best science fiction epics ever with his original Star Wars. He did it by transforming a classic American genre -- the Western -- and giving it a new setting, with compelling characters preeminent and special effects secondary. It's a shame that he couldn't stop there!

The I-III episodes are like the Avatar of Star Wars; interesting effects but too much reliance on them and unimpressive as it continues.
