WWF/WWE Fans?

Anyone a fan of WWF/WWE?

I've been watching it for years since Hulk Hogan etc and then the Rock & Stone Cold! I love it!

inadaze 10-22-2007 06:54 PM

poor Hulk Hogan lost his cool and became -- hollywood hogan :/
If I ever get a chance to watch it these days Its not the same as when I was growing up.

orion_pax 10-23-2007 05:05 PM

I totally agree, it just isn't what it was!!

I miss the attitude era. :(

Ogryn1313 10-24-2007 10:56 PM

Wcw

I was more into WCW because I was getting too sick of the drama and very corny stuff going in WWE..especially anything and everything to do with the Undertaker. This led me to dub him the "Wonder Faker." It always seemed at least 40 minutes of each WWE broadcast was speeches. WCW, like any other wrestling thing had drama but tended to be less talk and more action. The worst night was when the NWO took over the show.
It was very sad when it was taken over. Alot of my favorites you don't see anymore.
But luckily WWE did take Stacy Kiebler. Where has she been lately?!?!
Her and Maria are the two most beautiful women who are in wrestling.
And remember the shrieking goth chick Daphne from WCW? Where is she?

Wlomeyer 11-01-2007 03:58 AM

Hulk is a joke!

There is only one taker and its the Undertaker!

ripulinaama 11-01-2007 01:03 PM

hehe I used to watch when i was kid... Hulk Hogan !! but like inadaze said.. he lost his cool..

tightship 11-03-2007 01:07 AM

nobody ruled like the four horsemen.

ric flair - world champ

barry windham - us champ

arn anderson/tully blanchard - world tag champs

orion_pax 11-03-2007 05:26 PM

The lovely Stacy has moved on from WWE I think... :(

Don't ever remember seeing these guys. But for Tag Teams I always loved the high flying Hardy Boys! Class.

Still I don't think they have the personalities these days like the Rock or Stone Cold. Taker is still out there kicking arse at least!

Anyone watch TNA? I've only seen bits but I think I like So-Cal-Val! :) Also Kurt Angle made the jump there is this the new WCW?

Mimecore 11-19-2007 02:57 PM

It looks like Jericho is back tonight on RAW. I just thought I would get the word out.

cool! loved Jericho he was always good on the mic and in the ring

Aero 01-05-2008 02:33 PM

yeah, he even changed his hairstyle. either he or shawn michaels should become the next champ, rather than randy orton. lol

Psynaptik 01-05-2008 08:07 PM

Big wrestlingfan. Huge Flairmark.

buffy 01-06-2008 04:35 AM

I dont watch it that much anymore but i was glad to see that Raw is jericho is back. Long live y2j .I wish Stacy was still on the show as she was the hottest diva with the best ass.

BlueRaven88 01-06-2008 06:30 AM

i haven't liked wrestling since i was like i dunno 12 or something. i found out it was all completely faked and staged, and after that it just lost all appeal. i mean a bunch of half naked sweaty men pumped up on roids purposely grappling each other for entertainment purposes? just seems kinda like a big gay porn orgy to me

Yeh, I'd rather watch MMA. I don't doubt those wrestlers could kick some arse but when it's staged, I just don't understand how people enjoy it. It's going to be interesting to see how Brock Lesner goes in UFC. After his K1 effort, I'm not counting him out.

theoneandonly 01-31-2008 02:58 AM

Lesnar will win this saturday. the pats will win sunday. Back to the topic... Wrestling is great, it has come a long way from the 70;s and 80's to now. It's more entertainment than mat wrestling today. Nothing wrong with that though

I personally hate john cena and enjoyed the days of Rock/Austin

just my 2 cents

wendals 05-20-2008 10:11 AM

Im not into any of the wrestling. Seems all too fake to me

pistolpete135 06-14-2008 06:22 PM

i watched wrestling last week an it was really dumb. it was so fake that it wasn't iteresting.

pistolpete135 06-14-2008 06:25 PM

crazyphone 06-27-2008 10:11 AM

I was a fan but I think since the Rock retired they have not been able to find a replacement for him. I also think that Triple H and Shawn Michaels have been around way too long.

spank 07-03-2008 11:03 AM

wwe had jumped the shark.
After the Eddie Guerrerro incident
that was it for me.

mickster 07-12-2008 09:03 PM

Wrestling such as wwf or something to that nature comes off to me as an insult to someones intelligence. It ranks right up there with roller derby !

fisher516 07-13-2008 02:16 AM

I watch it every so often.

kraken111 07-18-2008 10:52 PM

I gotta tell you something Mean Gene...........

Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Macho Man Savage, etc from back in the 80's friggin ruled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

porno4lyfe 07-18-2008 11:26 PM

I liked the old days better. But I like jon ceno and some other people in this era today. Plus I like the sexy divas, Was there every a tranny, shemale diva? I think they should get one. I think this is a good topic to talk about so admin get me past this reputable member thing.

No, not really... But I loved WCW back in the days. Hogan, Goldberg, Sting, Macho Man, Kevin "Big Sexy" Nash, Bam Bam Bigelow and the others. :respect: There are a few good ones now but most of them aren't really good. And they got rid of Goldberg and Hogan too, so since then I'm not interested at all. Sometimes I check it out but it's nothing like the good old times. Though I have to say, the divas are sexy. :turnon: The only good thing about WWE novadays. :D

ziggybabie 07-31-2008 02:14 PM

First, let me say to the detractors, yes I know it is "fake", but so is theater and action movies. I, and many others who also know this, still enjoy it.

That said, I used to be into the WWE big time. And WCW and ECW. I liked ECW best, for multiple reasons. The old ECW. The real one.

This new shit isn't ECW. The new "ECW" show sucks hairy goat balls and he's just turned it into a WWE minor league or something, which is an insult to the old fans and guys who started and built the company as an upstart rebellion and alternative to what the WWE and WCW were doing. Vince McMahon running "ECW" is about as oxymoronical as Hitler running anti-racism rallies. Complete opposites. ECW was a true democracy, where other wrestlers and fans opinions actually counted. McMahon runs his company like a dictatorship. Always has. His way or the highway and don't dare contradict his "genius". ECW was more free expression and taking it back for the fans. McMahon is about censorship and kissing corporate sponsors ass and pyrotechnic bullshit.

I've been boycotting the WWE for a while now, because of all the bullshit Vince has been doing. He practically spits on one of the most loyal portions of his fanbase (what he calls "internet fans" or "dirt-rag readers"). This steroid scandal helped bring to light how shitty a human being he is. Many hardcore wrestling fans have known for years.

"Yeah, don't take steroids" *wink wink...rewards guys who take steroids with promotions*

Ric Flair....if he came up in the WWE, he might not have made it. Cuz Vinnie Mac likes big guys more than guys who are better athletes. Flair never looked like a hulking behemoth. He just had personality and good matches.

Vince also LOTS of times doesn't respect guys from other promotions worth a damn if he didn't make them. Vader, Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, etc. I could go further, but I'll leave it be. WCW was FAR from perfect, either, holding down so many young new guys with main event potential like Eddy Guerrero and Raven while we seen an 80 year old Hogan vs Savage match for the billionth time and they made practically no effort to elevate new main eventers. The name "Wheel Chair Wrestling" came from somewhere. The old timers wanted to hold that torch forever. I still liked the old NWA and WWE during and a little before the Attitude era, though. If I get any WWE tapes, now, though, it's old bootleg DVDs of the "good ol days". So I'm not putting money in Vinnie's pockets.

Nowadays, I'd rather support TNA or ROH. But, I'm more nostalgic than anything.

i don't see the point in fake sports, i can apreciate the corogrphy and the over the top showmanship, but its not something i could watch alot of, i used to like it when i was alot younger. i like to watch UFC theres even some wwe guys who fight in it, brock lesner he's scary looking i saw his secong ufc fight and he was pounding the guy silly for about four minutes then the guy submited him it was a hell of a fight.

It's more than just "fake sports" to fans though.

I never got real sports because most bore me to tears (there's more whistles and flags in football than action whenever I TRY to watch), but sports movies are AOK, because I like characters and storylines. Wrestling is also like a male soap opera with funny over-the-top characters and LMAO trashtalking and "skits"/interviews that are WAY too risque and adult themed to be considered too "childish", nowadays. Plus, the GOOD ones can put on just as an exciting match as any Rocky movie staged fight. It's not all just "fake hit" - "act like you're hit", bodyslam. Some of those guys came from Greco Roman and real collegiate wrestling backgrounds and put on fast paced exhibitions with more moves in a minute than Michael Jackson in Chucky Cheese.

But, to each their own. I understand everyone won't like it. I just hate how lot of people just oversimplify it and think of the false stereotypes that haven't been true for so long. Hulk Hogan is not a "wrestler", for example, but muscular entertainer with a 3-move-repertoire-pose for the fans style. He's the most known, but not all are as stereotypically untalented as him.

Anyways, yeah. UFC or the "real stuff" is about the only actual sport I watch. I used to love Royce Gracie way back in the UFC's early days.

SluttyShemaleAnna 07-31-2008 08:23 PM

in 50 years time, people will only remember Hogan from repeats of Mr Nanny.

Sad for him, but that's the price of selling out, tbh the big wad of cash is problly worth people remembering you only as 'that nanny guy' after your dead. Shame he could pull a Schwarzenegger and go into politics. President Hogan would be cool.

Maybe the rock will, seeing as after scorpion king he is the new Hogan. lol.

The phoniness of WWF or WWE really shows through after 5 minutes of watching! The movements are so slow! Its like I will let you thrash me for 2 minutes, I will give it to you, for the next 3 minutes. Got up case, buddy!;)

I like Hulk Hogan, he looks like a friendly guy! His appearence is Stallone's Rocky3 was rather short but quite amusing!

The Rock! The scorpion king! I enjoyed the action, every minute of it! I also remember the actress with much fondness.;) Kelly Hu, Oooooh!

Don't use the WWE as an example of wrestling now, because they aren't concerned with athleticism. Especially not any of Hogan's old matches. If you want an example of how it's not all that bad, look up Rey Misterio vs Psicosis or Eddy Guerrero vs Dean Malenko or Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels.

No, it's not all realistic 100% of the time, but it's something fans kind of overlook. The matches are still exciting, when the real athletes among them give it their all. Not all Hollywood fights are realistic, but some "corny" ones are still entertaining.

sesame 07-31-2008 09:29 PM

Ok, some of the Girl Fights are entertaining. I have to admit.
But they should improve on the choreography and fast pace.

lol. You're entitled to your opinion, but I honestly think you haven't seen enough of the better half to judge, so have no clue what you're talking about. As with many detractors. Here's a GOOD example: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xeh...-guerrero-2-of

ps......also why is it that many movie fight scenes are corny as FUCK, but they don't get as much shit? And unlike the wrestlers, they're able to "do over", so there is a lot less excuse. But people don't complain half as much or don't notice in movies.

sesame 07-31-2008 10:36 PM

Well, if that was sarcasm, it failed, since whether or not they "meant it" was just as believable as half the shit in Hollywood where a thousand bullets at close range always miss the hero who might get one papercut, and each "bad guy" waits for him to take out the current crop of "bad guys" before taking their "turn" to get beat, lol, but he's still "awesome" and noone says anything.

But, since you seem like a decent long time poster, I'm guessing you were just saying "to each their own" and "different stokes for different folks", rather than being sarcastic and condescending.

Once upon a time I was a damn serious wrestling fan and veritable grapple historian, to the point that I spent my first year's entire student loan to go and see Wrestlemania XV; of course if someone gave me 'free' cash now, I'd probably spend it going to Bangkok - but wat'cha gonna do?!?

I grew up with the Hogan/Warrior era, and of the course the Undertaker in his first - and best - incarnation. I first lost interest after Royal Rumble 91 when Ric Flair - whooo! - got the title; it was obvious Naitch was gonna drop it to Bret Hart and I simply hated the Hitman as a fan favourite, even though I later came to see him as one of the best in sports entertainment, along with Dynamite Kid, Tiger Mask, the Taker, Mick Foley and Sabu.

So I dropped out and didn't watch for a while, until the Survivor Series 95 when Austin whipped Jake Roberts' ass and a legend was born.

However - I'm going on, I know, but bear with me grapple fans - the end was when McMahon bought out the competition at the turn of the millennium. WCW was on it's last legs of course, and ECW was struggling as well, but once the rival companies were absorbed by the-then WWF, for me the bookers and script writers, not to mention certain members of the dressing room, lost their edge. I still tune in every now and then, but I just don't like the throwaway catchphrases, puppies and cheap plotlines. Indeed, the sheer gutless soft porn bad soap opera mediocrity of wrestling these days annoys the hell outta me :censored: ...dig it?!?

Thanks for your indulgence!

Vince McMahon should walk off a cliff. He's a power hungry dictator whose ruining the business, disrespecting WAY too many people (*see note below) and ruining lives (**)

He has no conscious. He's scum. Sorry for the rant....

*not only wrestlers and fans of non-WWE/overall wrestling, but he doesn't even listen to his own WWE fans, often preferring to shove guys he himself likes down their throats, while holding down some guys they like.

**ENCOURAGING the environment where guys who "take their vitamins" ie:steroids, get promotions. Yes, personal responsibility is part, but to dodge any blame himself......he is King Douche

An honest and heartfelt rant mate, no need to apologise!

To play devil's advocate though, I don't see Vince as any different from any other head of a multi billion dollar industry - anyone who makes that much cash has some blood on their hands...and I'd take him over Ted Turner any day of the year!

Yeah, you're right. I guess I'm just more passionate about my hatred for Vince since I was such a huge wrestling fan back in the day. Turner was never even involved in wrestling when he owned WCW.

I'm almost disinterested in the stuff nowadays.
