True Love - Childish Fairytale Fantasy or Real Life Goal

An interesting thought that came up in a conversation with a friend today. Is there such a thing as "True Love". by this i am referring to love between two people that can not be overridden by anything else. Personally, I like to think that there is such a thing and that i will experience it one day, but going through the news and listening to what over people say often leads me to believe that such love is indistinguishable from brain damage and only exists in the minds of obsessive stalkers. That said, i like to think that there are examples, such as with my Grandparents who have been together far longer than they have been apart. What do you think? is it possible, impossible, archaic or only possible to those with a certain mindset?

I would die to have many loved ones back whom have passed on. We don't get to choose our family or mates like simply buying a car.
We luck into everyone, we never choose them but they are always a part of our lives. We can't pick out a true love anymore than they can choose us. True loves are just random 'Good Luck'.

The good news - I believe true love does exist.
The bad news - it seems to be one-sided in most cases.
I guess most of us have been "head over heels" in love with one or more people at different times, but how often have we found that they didn't feel the same way about us? Maybe your grandparents were lucky - or maybe they didn't spend half their lives looking on dating websites!

So what can we do?

Follow the advice of Steven Stills - if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with. After all, how long have you got to find the perfect partner?

For me - the good news - it does for me and has for thirty+ years ( nobody more surprised and grateful than myself )

The bad news is that often far too much time is passed in taking it for granted

The extra good news is that it guarantees a white-knuckle ride at any time !

No time to get bored, and plenty of time to get bawdy !

But remember, no pain, no gain.

So, all you gamblers out there, while Love is but a lottery, it's the light that beckons us all.

 >> :turnon: >> :coupling: ! ! !
