Hmmmm. The picture that I want to post is a .bmp which apparently is not a valid extension to use with the 'Manage Attachments' option. Does anyone know how to change a picture from a .bmp to a .jpg? Is a special program required?

As a different option, is it permissible to simply click on the picture in my Photobucket account and then use the 'Insert Image' option at the top of the post window? It would still be a .bmp, though.:confused:

Windows XP see if this works for u .......
Move pic to 'My Picture' open with 'Window Picture and Fax Viewer''
at the bottom of the veiwer move along the toolbar until u find 'Copy to'
click 'Copy to' open window and change 'Save as type' to JPEG , click 'Save'

You can also download free Paint Net .

Paint which comes with Windows will convert a bitmap to other picture formats. Just open the file in paint and change the format in the Save As dialogue box.

Photobucket doesn't allow direct access from a lot of websites so there is a good chance that a link to photobucket won't work.

Ila, thanks for the tip about the Paint program that comes with Windows, but it was unfortunately one of the programs that got wiped out when I attempted to delete Windows Messenger(it was glitched from a bad update from the Microsoft site). As I don't have a hard copy of Windows XP(since it was pre-installed at Futureshop when I bought the computer) I cannot restore any of the programs lost(Internet Explorer has no shortcut, the games folder is empty, I had to re-download Windows Media Player, etc.). Sometimes I hate how user-unfriendly Windows can be.

Your hard drive should have been partitioned with a Windows backup in the partition. You should send JohnDowe a PM about your problem or post it in his computer help thread (in this forum). I'm pretty sure that John will be able to help you get back your full Windows capability.

I should mention that I tried using the actual Windows restore option(using various dates before the mishap, but for some reason it wouldn't allow me to reset. Darn Windows, sometimes it is a pain!

That picture of the bird reminds me of work! There are about 200 000+ crows there nightly. At least a couple of falcons ate one today. Hopefully they'll stay and scare off the crows(since our wonderful Mayor won't do anything about the massive overpopulation that we are dealing with), or at least eat some more of them.:eek:

At least the pigeons are a lot quieter than the crows. We've only got about 10-12 of them at the workplace at any given time, so they are never a problem. However, at around 7pm EST and 7am EST it looks like the Flight of The Valkrie up there with the crows! Where are the :censored: umbrellas?!?!?:eek:
