Self-medicating is very dangerous. You should be talking to a doctor and getting the proper treatment.

No offense and will all due respect, it's hard to make that judgement call without seeing you shaved. I'll have a hard time with the seriousness of this poster, until you do this.
Also as Ila stated, self-medication is dangerous and you should seek out a TG support group to find medical professionals who are used to working with TG's.
Good luck.

Seconded. You can really mess up your body by not doing things the right way.

Going to echo everyone here - DIY hormones are tough to manage. Birth Control pills don't have the estrogen content to reshape the body, particularly while you are still making testosterone.

I'm not a huge fan of having to see doctors to transition, but they have their uses. One of them is getting you on the right amounts of estrogen and anti-androgens.

One word of advice from a gal who has been through it. Save your money for facial hair removal. I started both laser/electro and HRT around the same time and I found myself with noticeable breasts and STILL having to zap my beard - it's not a happy place to be. Part of this was due to not keeping up on my electro visits because they are damn expensive when you are working a retail job and waiting tables.

facial hair makes me cry. :(

It is the worst thing ever.

alwantsanal 01-23-2010 04:50 PM

And I agreeeee my facial hair is a disaster -_-

So even though I'm taking the highest estrogen birth control it won't change my body?

I read that over time it wil....?

Natalie_J 01-24-2010 06:27 AM

I've looked into this myself in the past so I've read a bit about it. However, there are people far better than me on here to advise you on this.

I believe the basic problem is that, strangely enough, higher levels of Estrogen can work against you if you're looking to reshape the body. Lower levels work faster as the body will simply convert excess and it will be wasted. You also really need to be on some kind of Testosterone blocker as well. This is one of the problems with self-medicating.

All you may do after six months on high levels of birth control pills is render yourself sterile...

alwantsanal 01-24-2010 06:47 AM

Oh wowww really? Well thank you a lot for that info

Really

Ill take that into consideration and do loads more research!

Soo glad I posted this for some help on this tough situation!

Read This Please!!!

first... get some help, and no, I'm NOT calling you crazy. First, please read this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transsexualism and read the articles related, so you can get some extra information... It's not gonna be as easy as you think.

Think about it carefully, go to your local LGBT meetings, meet transgendered people, get to know how things are, and IF YOU, read carefully, YOU still want to, SEE A MEDIC FIRST!!! Please!

Self medication can kill you, playing with such medicines is quite dangerous, since your body chemistry could change in a negative way.

Please, DO NOT ignore this post.

Good luck to you in this journey and best wishes, it's gonna be quite hard but, listen to your heart, and if it's what you want, go for it :)

See a doctor, and get antiandrogens before taking anything else.

alwantsanal 01-26-2010 03:51 AM

How do I find a specialist?

alwantsanal 01-30-2010 06:59 AM

Nothing showed up. Use the 'Manage Attachements' option and it should work. After choosing 'Manage Attachments'(scroll down to see it) choose 'Attachments'(beside the white smilie face) and go from there. I hope that helps.:)
