Does anyone know the significance of the star tattoo worn by Brasilian TS girls?

We were having a discussion on the Bianca Freire thread and it drifted to the significance of the star tattoo that several of the Brasilian girls wear on their shoulders, Kalena Rios and Bianca spring to mind immediately.
I did some research and came up with the explanation below. However a Brasilian told me that there is no "tranny mafia" so I am still searching for the facts/truth.

"It means they have membership in "Ordem de F?mea com Sociedade do P?nis " which is the oldest "tranny mafia" in Brazil and can trace it's roots to the slave trade coming into Brazil when it was a Portuguese Colony. It was originally a way that effeminate men could be sold out of the slave trade for plantations, into the sex trade or sold as "females" to horny slave owners. The 5 pointed star was used as a marker to denote that they were for "female use" (the 5 points being the head, the arms and the legs) - a 6 pointed star was used if they were to be sold as men (the 6th point being the penis).
Shortly after slavery ended, those with the "badges" got together and opened Brothels which specialised in transsexuals. They used the Star on the door or windows of the brothels to signify that it was a "tranny" house. The star became known as "Espalhe a estrela aberta do sexo".

In more recent times, it's become the marker of the tranny mafia group who kept the original name. Part gang, part prostitute union they pretty much control a lot of the travesti sex industry in Brazil and once your in, you have "protection" - for a fee of course, the tattoo is the prove that you are in the "Union". Wearing it without being accepted in the Union would have a punishment ranging from death, to full castration or acid thrown in the face (the last two disabling a TS from being a TS prostitute)."

Who knows? If I was involved with a Brazillian 'Tranny Mafia' I probably wouldn't be shouting about it's existence either, for obvious reasons. But things like this are usually urban myths.

I've no doubt it'd be a nice sexual fantasy for somebody though...

I've got stars on my shoulder, and the tattoo artist didn't ask for my Tranny Mafia membership credentials. I am also not Brazilian and not a prostitute.

You also do not have to be a member of the Navy to get a nautical star, or a certified lesbian to get a blue star.

It's just one of those things that's gotten more popular with the TS crowd. Star tattoos aren't a totally played-out thing (at least not where I live), and I see it as a little bit of a TS pride thing, and I got them done in the favorite colors of people who are meaningful to me, but still, a star is just a star.

And as origin stories go, I find the hooker slavery and Tranny Mafia stories pretty far-fetched. If it's symbolic, I think it's more likely they're trying to symbolize "porn star" than anything.

Ah, lovely Raquel, always bringing a note of sanity to the discussions. :respect:

If there were such a Mafia, and becoming a "made man" involved having one of the transwomen do a certain thing to me, I think I might just turn to a life of crime. ;)

This is just an idea that i want to throw out there but it would be interesting if some of the American trannies got together and all decided on a tattoo to wear(something with a far more positive tone to it, as opposed to a tranny mafia of sorts). I'm thinking of a tatoo that represents their struggles and beuty. Something positive. Just an idea though. ;)

There's no one answer. The sailor star has a bunch of different meanings. A lot of them are personal and owners won't share their meaning with just anyone. Having said, the sailor star usually means good luck. For practitioners of Candombl?, an Afro-Brazilian religion, the star is a symbol of Yemanj?, Goddess of the Ocean. She's sometimes called the Star of the Sea.

Maybe they just like having star tattoos?

I've wondered the same thing.

I was thinking it probably has something to do with the number of films/videos or something like that that they have been featured in.

I still think they just like how they look on them, same when a girl has a a flower or something tattooed on their leg or something.

I don't know the answer, but I'm surprised to be the first one to post a picture of Brazilian flag. The array of stars on the flag is somewhat similar to the tattoos in question, but denser.

I have noticed similar tattoos on Brazilian men. I think they may be a nationalist symbol related to football. Football is huge in Brazil, and a lot of the models are soccer fans -- judging from the number of photoshoots they do that involve playing soccer as a group or posing as individuals in uniforms.

Lesbian blue star?

I wondered the same many times, my guess is also that have to do with the stars of the brazilian flag.

Whatever the meaning might be all i know for sure is that the tatoo looks great on them.

Because they are stars! I am uploading this picture to illustrate my point. As you can see, Bianca Friere is a star. Look at her milking this cock with her butt hole. Her very posture is amazing - not many can pull that off. Would love to be on all fours in front of her flapping penis. Those perky tits. Grrrrrr. She has a star because she is a star.

Ok so in my searchings it appears that was actually just a smartass remark. Seanchi said that on one forum and was promptly quoted on a bunch of others. A later post by him said "Total BS I made it up for fun on that other forum just because so many people espouse their rubbish as fact ... :-)"

Sooo... I still think it's mostly just a trend, and once a few got it then others said "hell yes we are all in this together" and did it too. Hell I think the same thing, I look at them and think as I like them a lot I kinda want to do it too.
