I think the accepted norm' in here is that a ladyboy is a young asian shemale.
It is very easy for young asian boys to have the facial appearance of females.

I view the term ' Ladyboy ' as just another label, and franalexes is right in identifying it with sexual transmorphs ( complete or otherwise ) from South East Asia. It seems to be a label of convenience to distinguish them from other sexual transmorphs from elsewhere. On the internet ' Shemale ' or ' Tranny ' seems to be the general identifier, but this can be offensive to many genuine transgenders - others don't seem to mind. The Japanese use a completely different identifier - ' Newhalfs ', and some are absolute stunners.
I personally don't see ' Ladboy ' as a particularly offensive term.

Either way I find the whole subject fascinating, and, guess what, they reflect humankind completely - some beautiful, some fragile, some husky, and some downright ugly - but they're all going in the same sexual direction ( at least
I think they are ! ! )

I think the best way to define "ladyboy" is by self-definition, by which I mean if a person wishes to identify as a "ladyboy," then that person is a ladyboy. The sooner we get away from labeling others, the better ... as so, so, so many threads on this forum demonstrate.

The Name Game

This is an interesting discussion. I, too, have come to associate the term "ladyboy" with a young, Asian, MtF transexual. However, I understand a significant number of these are not transexuals but are young men who have adopted the lifestyle of a shemale escort. This is to say they are males anatomically and intend to remain so. But, by carefully grooming and dressing and adopting certain mannerisms, they live (and earn) as shemales for relatively long periods of time. I would differentiate these from crossdressers - and certainly from female impersonators - as it is for them (the "faux shemales") less a form of theater than a lifestyle commitment.
