Since you asked . . .
It's Sammy Hagar's "Heavy Metal". Don't know what that says about me but I admit it, I'm 67 years old and I still love to get my ears kicked in.
(But it just as easily could have been Rush's "Cold Fire" or Ted Nugent's "Just What the Doctor Ordered".)
Classic Rock Rules!!

Now I have on talk radio. My taste in music is wide but radio stations hit every inch outside of what I do like. If they get a 'song' I enjoy, chances are the blow the mood with the very next one. So as to not go crazy with the seek or scan button I put it to talk radio. It's surprising how much a person can learn.

Mandy 03-04-2009 04:31 PM

I'm listening to the new Neko Case album "Middle Cyclone".

smc 03-04-2009 05:02 PM

My tastes are all over the map. In the last 48 hours, I have listened to some lieder by Franz Schubert, the new Neko Case album (just like Mandy above), a jazz vocalist named Libby York, and some cello sonatas. I'm about to listen to Ann Dyer & No Good Time Fairies -- an album titled Revolver: A New Spin.

Nice to have a thread like this. Thanks.

robbo971 03-04-2009 07:13 PM

miss_kandy 03-16-2009 05:23 AM

ahhh...just the thread i was searching for...

vinyl is usually my choice of music medium (nothing beats LIVE music tho..but it's kinda hard to squeeze Pearl Jam or the Butthole Surfers in your living room on any given day {God knows I wish i could tho...}) so there is usually something spinning on the platter most hours of the day or night...

At the moment it's At the Drive-In "Vaya" 12" e.p

nice
;)

The Conquistador 03-16-2009 10:33 AM

I don't like country music, and neither does Adam Lambert on American Idol. He sang Ring of Fire on Nashville night and it was anything but country. It rocked.

p.s... I looked up some photos of him. Looks like he's not always a he...

Creedence 03-18-2009 03:21 AM

What's everyone listening to?

Right now I am listening to "The Yardbirds: Ultimate". A great 2-disc compilation on Rhino Records, released in 2001. They were incredible! From these roots came Clapton and Cream, Page and Led Zeppelin, Beck and The Jeff Beck Group! Not bad!

prodigy32 05-13-2009 09:52 PM

one of my favourite musicians Damian Marley - the mission

JenniferParisFan 05-13-2009 11:42 PM

Stone Roses and The Smiths at the moment.

Apocalypse by Jesper Kyd

Vanillas 05-14-2009 05:15 AM

My Current Song

At this moment my itunes is playing DOMINIQUE from "The Singing Nun," sung by Debbie Reynolds. OOPS, to slow. It moved on to OH SUSANA, sung by Robert Merrill. And, NO, this is not a joke because NOW it is playing I FEEL PRETTY from "West Side Story, sung by Carol Lawrence. Now I will send this and quickly, before I lose what small amount of credibility I may still have.

Creedence 05-14-2009 06:08 PM

I'm listening to How It Ends by Devotchka

It's a song famous for being in Little Miss Sunshine and Gears of War II's trailer.

ARIES666 05-16-2009 09:12 PM

What's everyone listening to?

At the moment....."Haunted" by Poe. IMHO One of the two best CD's released by a female singer/songwriter in the past 10 years. The other one is "Fox Confessor Brings The Flood" by Neko Case.

SweetCharmer 05-17-2009 04:00 AM

wow this thread's gone for a bit lol well to continue it
i'm listening to Royksopp - In space

Just opened up the new Tori Amos..."Abnormally Attracted To Sin". Came out two days ago. I like all her albums, so I am sure I will like this as well!

Wow...Robin Trower on the radio! You must live in a country/city with decent stations for "rock". None here in Toronto! Limited playlists...formulated and predictable! And too much Canadian content! Of course they are forced to play almost 50% Canadian music by the C.R.T.C.! Kind of reminds me of the way China controls their media (lol).

Anyway...right now I am listening to "Emerson, Lake and Palmer: The Atlantic Years" CD Anthology

Gougeaway 05-31-2009 04:19 AM

David Bowie - Modern Love

ARIES666 05-31-2009 05:33 AM

Listening to....

The Allman Brothers Band: The Filmore Concerts CD.

The Allman Brothers are quite possibly the best band ever the USA has produced. I don't think any band combined blues, jazz, country and rock so well. The incredible guitar playing of Duane Allman & Dicky Betts. The twin drummers Butch Trucks & Jaomie adding so much power. And the incredible voice of Gregg Allman(also keyboards).

ARIES666 06-03-2009 03:58 AM

Listening to...(and watching)

Rory Gallagher: Live At RockPalast DVD Box Set. Series of 5 concerts (1976-1990).

IMHO....."U2"...pretentious, over-rated, full of themselves...and a handfull (just a handfull) of decent songs. Ireland's Thin Lizzyhas them beat by a mile! As for Rory Gallagher, also from Ireland and sadly, passed away in 1995, he could outplay "Edge" with one hand tied behind his back!

What is everyone else listening to?

hankhavelock 06-03-2009 09:01 AM

The Fez - Steely Dan

aa2239 06-03-2009 09:53 AM

Some sort of funky house music on an internet radio station... dunno the name of the particular track, I never do!
