Hobbies - Do You Have Any?

Pretty well everyone here has the same 2 hobbies; namely computers and looking at, admiring, and talking about shemales.
Do any of you have any other hobbies? I like woodworking and fixing anything mechanical. I love building different things with wood, from small items through furniture and structures. I also love to work on vehicles, motorcycles, or anything else mechanical. I mostly do all this in summer because I don't have a workshop and it's too cold in winter to do any of this outside. When the temperature is -40 and the wind is blowing it's no fun to be out. Anyway I keep my tools in a shed because I don't have room in my house (I have a finished basement so there is no storage are inside). I have a lot of woodworking and mechanic's tools, but I believe in the concept that there is no such thing as too many tools.
So how about it what are your hobbies.

tlover 02-24-2008 01:41 PM

Don't have many any more really, i used to be into karate and kickboxing for a short while dot worry i didnt get far, at the same time became a big fitness freak jogging weight training swimming, Marathon's ect.
Always been a big music fan, all sorts.
I was quite keen on photography for a while.
i can never stay interested for very long on anything.
I still do a little wight training and swimming in the summer try to keep fit.
Seriously i would love to get into some small armature movie making of some sort, i think you all know what my fave subject would be.;)

art

A few years ago I did some metal art. I tried to get some of it in a gallary but their demands made it too difficult. They really don't want just one piece that has value. They want a "supply" that they can charge a 50% mark up and make money on you. Fuck'em. I have art pieces from Maine to California and they are not for sale.

That sounds interesting. Does any of it involve welding? I've always wanted to try welding, but I'm not going to go out and buy a welder just to try it. I do like grinding and shining metal. Don't think I could make anything that would be considered art though.

mykel73 02-25-2008 12:55 AM

I like to draw and paint.

Mad_Bad!! 02-25-2008 03:33 AM

I play bass guitar in a hard rock band.
At the moment we only play cover songs (AC/DC, Kiss, Guns N' Roses... the usual stuff) but we plan on start writing something after we've played live for a while (we're getting started again 'cause we changed the singer) and get an established (and demoed) setlist.
I also like playing videogames and reading comics (I love Marvel).

Arato 02-25-2008 08:45 AM

For me Im in to my Battlefield2142 and Im also in to Tae Kwon Do, got my blackbelt in 1988.

captaindunsel 02-25-2008 09:21 AM

Definitely computers. When I was doing sys admin work, my then (shemale) girlfriend used to complain that I'd work on computers all day and then come home and play with them all night...

Of course, I always found time to play with her too. :D

BlueRaven88 02-26-2008 06:30 AM

Pretty much my only hobbies are listening to music and searching for ladyboys online. not having much luck in my searches though (i'm not looking for porn or escorts, i'm looking for ladyboys that want LTR's with westerners).
I play a couple of video games though. At the moment I got back into Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn/Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal. Such a sweet game and add-on. Just completed tonight again in fact. This time around I played a Neutral Good Half-Elf Mage/Thief and did the romance with Aerie (hope you know what I'm talking about because it is an old style game brought out in 2001 or so, it's predecessor Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast were brought out in the late 90's)

Yeah feer my leet geekness -_-'

Try doing some cover work for Nirvana and/or Seether. They rock harder than tryhards like Kiss and AC/DC, and Guns'N'Roses only had 1 good song and it was Sweet Child of Mine, and don't start going on about how good AC/DC are or whatever cos I'm Australian and I STILL say they suck because it's true.

Seether have 3 albums by the way (technically 4 but the second was an extended re-release of the 1st so it has all the same songs plus more, so I only count it as 3 albums) - Disclaimer II, Karma & Effect, and their newly released album titled Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces. Personally Karma & Effect is my fave, but everyone has different tastes :respect:

Mad_Bad!! 02-26-2008 06:54 AM

I don't like grunge (I can bear only a little Soundgarden, but I totally hate Nirvana), and I fine modern alt rock and mainstream rock like Nickelback and Seether to be extremely dull, samey and boring.

I actually have a few dreams: a power metal group, a melodeath one or one to play nowadays obscure hair metal.
But I'm quite happy with what I play now. I love AC/DC, GnR and Kiss. I find modern rock bands to be the real "tryhards", 'cause they try to rock as hard as the old bands but always fail.

Ogryn1313 02-26-2008 09:13 AM

Too many

Hmm...too many hobbies. At 32 I'm still a kid at heart.

Wargaming and wargame model making, making model scenery.
I still play video games, PS2, PS3, PC.
Still buy graphic novels. Only dirty stuff though.
I collect all kinds of things. Even porn mags.
Target shooting.
Camping.
Masturbation.
Many more.

Lol I will admit that yes, Seether does get it's main influence from Nirvana, but the new bands don't rock as hard as the old ones? HAHAHAHAHA! Tell that to Lamb of God, Parkway Drive, Hatebreed, Bleeding through and many more; and Nickelback are trying to live up to no one's name. They are a unique band with no discernable influences in their songs, and at least all the new bands now adays have some decent grinding melodies to them (Nirvana had it also) and meaningfull lyrics, whereas retards like Kiss just basically sung about partying and gay crap like that, and AC/DC and GnR had no meaningful lyrics whatsoever, and all 3 bands (apart from the guitar solos in guns and roses, slash just plain melts faces) had very bland generic melodies to them.

If you want to follow up on more of Slash's work, he is now in a band called Velvet Revolver. They aren't half bad, but still aren't as good as the modern-day, bass-heavy singers, grinding music melody bands of today ;)

Mad_Bad!! 02-26-2008 11:07 AM

I was talking about modern rock bands, and you bring out modern bands which aren't rock but metal/metalcore/hardcore... what do they have to do with what we were talking about? I'm not an idiot, I know that Lamb of God play heavier music than both Seether and Kiss, but that's not the point. "To rock harder" and "to play a heavier genre" are different things. So you aren't convincing me of anything.
I already know (and like) like Velvet Revolver.
I find some of GnR songs to be very meaningful (have you ever listened to Civil War? Estranged? And I could go on...).
Kiss and AC/DC don't have very meaningful lyrics, I can agrre on that, but they surely are funny!!! And very catchy, also. By the way, I don't see what's wrong with lyrics about party or sex... what's your problem, you don't like having fun? Also, they influenced literally TONS of bands. And don't tell me Ace Frehley and Angus Young aren't good guitar players...

By the way, if you go in the topic abuot music tastes, you can get a better idea of what I like. I'm statring to think that you think I only like "old" bands...

I am a builder and artist. I design or work from plans to build finished projects. I work with wood, stone and steel. The best part of it. I get paid to have fun. This is my hobby. My current project is a restoration of a 100 + year old main street building in Arkansas, USA.
I also have a hobby shop at home where I build custom BBQs and cookers.

well as you said, except from computers and admiring shemales on web, i do like carving small pieces of wood making pendants, doing stuff to my website and admiring more shemales... :inlove:

neoomegakupo 05-14-2008 02:44 PM

I've been getting lazy with my hobbies. I like drawing, photo manimpulating, and 3D stuff but I haven't done those in a long time. I did a couple of shemale and hermaphrodite drawings in the past. I've been getting caught up with TV and internet surfing.

I'm such a philistine that I've never even heard of Seether, but I agree with you on Nickelback. The song that everyone really likes this year: "Rock Star"? UGH. Not my scene. I call them Oatmeal Rock. To each, their own.

For modern rock and of those currently putting out, I look to Oasis (Classic Beatles-esque stuff) and MUSE (Great Prog Rock). For the real heavyweights, Elvis (and all the other 50's stars), The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Queen, Nirvana. People like GnR are very, very good, but not at that top level. IMO, anyway. For what it's worth, I listened to "November Rain" a bunch of times the other week.

Must also give a shout-out to more esoteric branches like shoegaze. Sofia Coppola (via "Lost In Translation" and "Marie-Antoinette") has put me onto some pretty cool stuff, like My Bloody Valentine and New Order. Thanks to Russell Brand, I also really dig The Smiths. Thanks to an Oasis-mad mate, I have a lot of love for The Stone Roses, too. Shit! There is so much stuff out there!

One confession: I don't really "get" heavier forms of music, but there are songs by Metallica and Nine Inch Nails that I find incredible. Of course, I'm only name-dropping people virtually everyone has heard of.

I can't really define my taste in music, except to say that I'm obsessed with Elvis. And I do mean OBSESSED. He is definitely one of my hobbies. I collect and talk about him -- and LISTEN! -- all the time. For other world class voices, I look to Sinatra, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson, Tim and Jeff Buckley and Amy Winehouse. Man, Amy has copped so much bad press, but one spin of "Back To Black" and I'm gone. In fact, I really love a LOT of soul / RnB / motown.

Today, I've been listening mainly to Elvis (non-rock stuff), Bobby Darin and Neil Diamond. Rock doesn't feature highly in my world. I also like film soundtracks -- in fact, I've been listening to the "End Credits" music for "Kill Bill, Volume 1" a LOT this week. Just can't get enough. The words "Tarantino" and "poor music" should NEVER go together. Apart from that sentence. If it happens again, the universe will implode. Then there's electronic stuff like Brian Eno, Daft Punk and Vangelis. I seem to like bits 'n' bobs from all over. Oops, this isn't the music thread, is it? :D

Can I also just mention Elton John, The Bee Gees, ABBA (pop meisters supreme), Wham! and, oh shit ...... I'm a pop fiend, aren't I?

LOL! This is every man's hobby!

The problem with me is that I have an obsessive mind. I get fixated on very specific things and can't shake them loose. They seduce me, noose me and won't let me go. This is becoming a real problem for me. Every time I go looking at porn (which is basically every day), I get totally crazed and feel like I have to experience it all. No matter how many shemale picture or movie pages I look at, it doesn't seem like enough. I have this desire to try and sample it all, lest it all fall from existence. So you can imagine my sense of being totally overwhelmed when I'm looking at all these thumbnails and knowing I can't possibly click them all. In fact, I don't want to click them ALL, but I want to click so many, and seek out others, that there's this restless part of my brain that won't simmer down. It keeps saying, "More! More! More!". LOL. I guess this is what it's like to have a drug addiction.

Anyway, my other hobbies include:

Films (Watching And Commenting Upon)
Books
Walking (For Miles)
Computers (Less Of A Hobby These Days)

Bionca 12-22-2008 08:07 PM

Hobies...

I play video games (MMOs) mostly as well as table top RPGs (Like Dungeons&Dragons). I read/collect comic books. I live sci-fi/fantasy books and films. I plan my survival in the even of a zombie apocalypse when I'm not doing anything else...

Gawd could I be a bigger nerd?

What's this? I seem to have been cloned!

I also play MMOs... well, just one. City of Heroes, and table top RPGs. I read Marvel superhero comics, and my Zombie plan needs a massive revision, since I've just moved to a new city.

I also practice Martial Arts, specifically Tae Kwon Do. I've got my first degree black belt, 'cause I'm bad-ass like that.

I use to play DUNGEONS&DRAGONS but lost intest when they came out with the 3rd edition rules, I also collect comic books and anything WONDER WOMAN  Jennifer

Sarah.. drat we were talking about COH a bit back... then I got sucked into WAR (aewsome game btw)... I'm not so into PK, but I kinda like kicking Dwarf azz in this game .. punks!

Jen - I think 3rd ed made D&D better than 2nd lots more variations IMO.. ya may just wanna give it a little try.

I adore Wonder Woman!! But my heart always goes to Black Canary - any gal who can pull off fighting crime in fishnets gets my vote!

Funny thing - almost evey TG I know (boy and girl) plays or used to regularly play RPGs - AND reads/read comics. I wonder if the same is true of the guys and gals who like us.

LuvAmy - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeons_%26_Dragons

this is an explanation of Dungeons & Dragons. It's actually better than I could write, but it s a little long.

Nirvana = brilliant. Anyway Im into lots of stuff. Usually anything that would include the words.......that sounds dangerous........and in more relaxed moments drums and guitar (yep, can give lots of tips). Finally a very esorteric spiritual side which includes self discovery and helping others using different therapies......mmm pies  Books, art, music, sex........not too interested in video games or drugs/booze (although I have experimented). I like people and love to try and understand different viewpoints.

The Conquistador 12-23-2008 12:55 PM

I mostly like to listen to music and work with metal. Welding and machining are my most favorite hobbies followed by playing games on my ps2(FPS mostly) target shooting and ammunition reloading. I like to work on vehicles, but it can be a pain in the ass sometimes. Should the muse descend, I can write some good poetry.

I don't and never have played RPGs. I've never cared for them. I used to read comic books, but not since I was about 12 or 13. When I did read comic books it was usually the typical super hero type that I read. I'm sure every young boy at one time or another has tied a towel around his neck and wondered why he couldn't fly just like superman. I also used to read Wonder Woman, but only because I liked looking at pictures of her (I guess I was horny even before I reached puberty or knew what horny meant).

Bionca 12-23-2008 08:31 PM

I never really liked many "boy" comics. I gravitated to more super-teams that feature strong female characters. Same with books and movies/TV shows. That has always been the case - if there wasn't a strong, capable, empowered woman I never really liked or identified with it.

I like those movies/tv shows too, but my motives aren't altruistic. I like seeing a good looking shapely woman that has nice legs and is showing some cleavage.

But, Bionca, you must like some boy comics.
After all, where would Black Canary be if she didn't have Green Arrow around to constantly drive her buggy?

As for me, just to add to the conversation, my hobbies have always centered on "creative" things to get away from the world. So, like others here, growing up I loved to read comics (still do) and I loved board games, which has since transitioned into loving video games. My favorite hobby and way to relax is to simply write and draw. Right now I'm teaching myself computer animation because my ultimate goal is to create my own online web shorts. But I also love going to the movies a lot or hanging out in a bookstore to see if there's some doofy paperback that will catch my eye. And if it's been an extra long or hard day dealing with work, then my favorite hobby is to simply plop on the couch and turn off my brain and watch whatever bad movie is on TV. But I think we all share that hobby! :p

svartekaptenen 12-27-2008 03:13 PM

I am interested in politics, I jump parachute from time to time, I like to learn foreign languages currently French, visit artmuseums but not modern ones,
read alternate historybooks, history in general, I like to take long walks but watch sports bores me except hockey and bandy and ofcourse travel, i am currently planning to go to Malaysia in Februari.
