Admin: picture viewing problem

Im a regular here, and i have posted and return here quite a bit, but my last post was only 5 days ago and now its not letting me access any pictures a message pops up saying:

"Sorry, it seems like you have not posted anything for a while. To view attachments you must participate more actively and make at least one post once in every 2 days."

I cant be expected to come here every 2 days! as others im sure wont be able to do that either...please think about releasing some of the restricted access for your members, just lighten it a little bit, this forum's a fantastic idea and it has real potential to flourish and be generous, but the harsh rules are a bit frustrating, considering i posted over 5 times in the past 5 days, thats hardly taking advantage, and then i receive this bond on my privaleges:(
thanks so much for this place, its great!

Hi mate,

thanks for expressing your concern, but i'm going to leave this rule in place. The forum now has tons of free stuff and I regularly have to delete accounts that just sign up to get free pictures (without intending to give anything back to the community), then leave 5 meaningless posts (like "wow!" or "nice piccccssssss") and disappear. I was thinking of some sort of reputation system where a new user should get approval to be able to view pictures, but this seems a little complicated so far...

Anyway, i think that 0.5 posts a day is not that harsh requirement after all.

Peace,
SSL

Meaningles posts

Agree the meaningless posts are getting really annoying, and i'm starting to miss some really interesting points by other members because the forums getting clogged up with pointless replys and threads, it just not the same anymore.

Tolver,
do you use "new posts" item in navmenu? It's great for displaying new posts since your last visit
http://forum.transladyboy.com/search.php?do=getnew

edit: or even like that
http://forum.transladyboy.com/search...ew&showposts=1

tlover 09-15-2007 06:16 AM

Yes but sometimes there's just so many pointless new posts and replies to wade through.

gayboi69 09-16-2007 05:56 PM

its odd though, ive posted quite a bit, comments pictures etc...but still not allowing me to look at pictures says "every 2 days" but ive posted even more than the requirment now..do i have to wait until 48 hours AFTER i first recieved the message for it to enable my privaledges again?

SSL 09-16-2007 11:57 PM

If you look at your profile, it says
Total Posts: 24 (0.41 posts per day)

your average should be greater than 0.5
PM me if anything

gayboi69 09-17-2007 06:59 PM

ohh okay, im understanding this now, thanks

its only meaningless because you make people post a certain amount of meaningless posts to contribute/view photos. you do 2 negative things by this..

make people post meaningless stuff to see photos.

punish people who wait to post something meaninful instead of post counts to view photos.

Excaliborg 10-15-2007 03:21 PM

think of it like this. . .if you give quality then you recieve quality. the 0.5 post a day rule is a good rule. i post and mod on many forums and wading through meaningless garbage is frustrating.

the pics and vids can be considered a reward for helping this forum to grow. it is more tha just a place to get some free ladyboy porn.

so top class SSl, carry on!

Things have changed a little and as of now there's no 0.5 posts / day rule, but i have come up with other filters.. Maybe this is why i didn't have to ban anyone on the last 3 days ;)

I don't know. I used to run a forum geared towards literature (ah, look where I am now ;) ahah ) so I know a thing or two about regulating boards. In my opinion, these post regulations are more of a hassle but I guess to each their own.

There you have it! Its a post by the founder of this forum, the greaaaaaaaaat Molecular Man himself.:D

For them who keep wondering where the rules and restrictions came from, here is the answer.

Alas, we dont see him here anymore. He's busy spinning his web (building new websites) elsewhere.

Rules, rules, rules, where would we be without them, that's life.
