On the toilet thing, I've noticed several universities and clubs in the UK have started doing this. Apparently it's because some individuals depending on how far they are along in transitioning, may feel uncomfortable in the men's and women's toilets.

Slavery in the US. I wonder how many transsexuals are forced into this situation.

Na.
Ts women are vulnerable but in very different ways. Even early transitioners {think late teens on} are very different to young women. Firstly, to get where we are, we either have a big support network or we do it on our own, which despite being vulnerable, makes us very streetwise. A ts needs a lot of maintenance stuff just to look hot, in a way that people-smugglers would know nothing about: Think meds, bloods, hair removal...just the face hair for most ts who have not had IPL / lazer / electrolysis and so on. Without all that a ts person would not be a sex slave, but a positive liability to any smuggler. Also, trans is a taboo in most places. Relative to a Day-one female sex worker coerced or otherwise only a small % of people would pay for sex with one of us. Brothels would not be interested. So smugglers wouldn't bother. Quote:

The ladyboy situation in Thailand could very well be partially controlled by pimps and slavers. |

Bangkok February 9, 2011. Newly formed Thai airline PC Air wants to be different from their competitors by hiring transsexual flight attendants. Being pretty and being feminine are the qualifications the ladyboys should have to join a new charter airline that will begin operations in early April. The airline has recruited four ladyboys, 19 women and seven men but said they will need to employ more transsexuals on their flights in the future. We are not coerced. By anyone at all. Eros is for indy's. I've never seen an agency or parlour ad on there. |
Well it is an opportunity.
but the thing is most of us don't want to be highlighted as different. Not as a special case. {Adult work acknowledged} We just want to be treated like everyone else. |

That is not meant to impugn any of these flight attendants. Rather, it is an expression of what is expected of them by their bosses. |
Apparently, Lea T, the transsexual model had an interview with Oprah! Has anyone else seen this?

Horrific News
I have some horrific news to report. A transwoman was attacked at a McDonalds in Baltimore. She was so severely beaten that she went into a seizure. One thing that really disturbed me, in addition to this woman getting beaten, is that patrons (except for one older lady) and staff (it appears the manager did try to help) of the restaurant did nothing to halt the attack. Instead cell phone cameras were turned on to video the whole attack. My heart goes out to this woman and I sincerely hope that she makes a full recovery. She may require financial help with her medical bills. If so, I intend to donate and I will post a link here of where others may donate.
This is the link to the vicious beating: http://brittanyts.com/Blog/2011/04/d...nder-customer/ There is also a follow up story that reports two suspects have been arrested. This is the link to that news story: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/mar...,4613709.story |
And that ladies and gentlemen is what we call deferred responsibility. Or maybe the McDonald's was staffed mostly with morons.

My heart goes out to the transwoman for a full recovery and I hope the two girls thugs are prosecuted to the fullest extent ........... and in some way one can only hope that by this clip going viral that it will ultimately give more attention to the need for equal rights everywhere for trangendered people as loved human beings in society. |
As of late last night, the LGBT alliance at my university is in touch with Equality Maryland to find avenues for providing financial assistance for medical treatment and to discuss how to pressure the state of Maryland to prosecute this as a hate crime.

Incident in Baltimore
Pretty sketchy with details, but at least the story got as far as MSNBC

Numerous fights, stabbings, and other violent crimes have had this occur. I just don't understand the mentality of people today. It's like their empathy "button" is turned off. I don't blame video games or television like some of the "experts" do. I think that people need to take responsibility for their own actions(or lack thereof, in the case of idiotic bystanders that would prefer to "egg on" the thugs perpetrating these acts of cowardice). Standing by and doing nothing because your life could seriously be in danger(a person could have a weapon for one thing) is one thing, but standing by acting like you are at a party is another. In this case I think the women could have been prevented from further hurting the woman being attacked, but the majority of people chose not to. While not as guilty as the cowardly woman doing the attacking, they are certainly guilty of gross indifference. I just hope the woman makes a full recovery (and I hope that her continued progress can be posted in this thread), and that the two gutless pukes get sentenced to a decent amount of jailtime.:( |
I hope Texass runs out of oil soon. :censored:

This is like the people who claim same sex marriage is a special law because it's only for one specific group, which completely denies the fact that only heterosexuals can get married. That is "balance" for "balance's" sake. That is to say: it's not really about balance and neither should it be. Intolerance should have no say. Is this the same people who ask for creationism to have equal time in the classroom? |
Today I raised a motion in the faculty senate at my university to protest this outrage at Oklahoma State University, where a faculty member has been denied tenure because she is a transsexual and her "lifestyle" is offensive to the Baptist beliefs of the vice president of academic affairs. I also submitted a motion to specify that our university can NEVER use any such reason for denying tenure (not that we would, but it's good to put it on the record).
