I noticed that links to external websites within the chatmail are clickable 'live' links.

Will this not send a referrer signal to these sites if the stuff is (under the rules) banned content and attract unwanted attention ? Is this a problem ?

Not sure what are the exact links you are mentioning, but i regularly moderate everything to make sure no links to harmful sites filtered into. So i believe everything is to the good

Its' because of live links identifying the referrer to the linked website that many hacker and warez forums for example demand that no links are live and that all are written for example like this h**t:// instead of http://
A great number would ban all m1cr0s0ft links for example for this great fear of being sued if identified.

Any live link posted openly when clicked will send a referrer in the browser (unless this is disabled) to the linked website therefore the webmaster of the linked website will know in the logs that its being linked to. This can be dangerous for some sites which allow links which are banned here. However I have noticed that links whether banned or not are 'live' within the chatmail. My opinion is perhaps this is probably bad for transladyboy and its members if it identifies this website to the wrong people. Do you know what I'm talking about now ? :)

Automatic link parsing has been disabled in PMs. I will leave everything as is in forums though, since i moderate everything anyway

Hmm why can I still go into my sent mail folder even now and open a sent message, inside of which I gave someone some links he requested and click on a live link in the sent message ?

this only applies to the new messages, created from now on ;)
On the other hand, we're not an illegal site, so i don't think there's a problem of someone finding transladyboy in the referer logs

I have been stuck on a limit of 0 downloads for about 2 wks. I use it to increase the photo size. WHY?

the more relevant posts you make the better are your limits. The more meaningless and crappy posts you make the greater your chances for getting banned are. Simple as that ;)
