"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty. "
Thomas Jefferson

A few angry thoughts.
Its time we scare the shit out of them.
Enough is enough, we need to take back our government.
Get rid of the lobbyists.
Take down the military/industrial complex.
Fuck China and the Arabs.
Start making our own stuff again.
Buy American!
Register as an independent the Dems and Repubs do not represent us.
We need a new system of representation.

I think a Mosin/Nagant pretty damn well represents what I feel about things right now...

First off, they should not receive any pension until 20 years of service has been met(civil service standard) They do not have to be in one title, but to one jurisdiction. State Federal, County or local govt. Positions can lead to another post but non transferrable across tax base. State to any other within state position. County assessor can move to county collector or even a county judge.
This debt grows very high and fast because a shithead politician can serve one term in one area, get voted out, be able to collect a pension, get voted to another position for 1,2 more & collect another pension. Even while another shithead has replaced them. Now two(riiight) collect salaries and pensions for the rest of their lives along with full(and better) health care for the same job they screwed up on our tax dollars. Right now , we have hundreds of thousands (add their spouses also,) all collect premium salaries and pensions.

Relax, everybody, calm down now. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia has made it possible to sidetrack the Republican Party, The Democratic Party, and the entire Government for that matter. Big Business owns the Election process now. Wall Street bought your vote at the Supreme Court today. Your children will work 60 hour weeks to live in cardboard houses and eat cardboard food and obey cardboard leaders.

BushCheney's do-nothing government is still reaping dividends, all the money is long gone, all trust in our leaders is long gone, only the tab from their 8 year party is left. Cost: $1,900,000,000,000.00

That was your benevolent Lord Zero, high speed. Remember, him and Congress made the decision to spend all that money; not Bush.

Absolutely. But there's a development today you're not going to like...

Well the poll seems pretty clear. Even though it's unscientific, I don't think it's a big stretch to say that the vast majority of the country thinks it's absurd to raise Congress's debt limit another $1.9 trillion. That's like giving whisky to a whino.

So why are our REPRESENTATIVES even considering this?

Well, great. As if corporations didn't already control Congress, this is the coup de grace. Labor unions included, yeah right, they have no chance against corporate America. :censored:

Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves are its only safe depositories.

It is so funny that the Republican's one and only plan to save the Country is predicated on first electing them to office. I'm glad Obama finally declared war on Wall St. today, against some of his own advisor's advice. We'll see which weasels line up on Wall Street's side. Everybody will see.

This is a double edged sword. While it does reaffirm the 1A, I am not too fond of businessess having that much clout in politics.

THANK YOU AP, THANK YOU! Big Business has been hiding behind time honored conservative values, pretending they champion hard work for a hard dollar. The truth is Big Business wants you to do the work and they get the dollar. There is nothing wrong with conservative values, I LOVE conservative values (when it comes to money)
You'll notice Fox News didn't give much airplay to yesterday's Supreme Court decision. Hmmmm........

Complete opposite of what I was trying to get at. I don't like that some corporations are influencing election results with all their "contributions" and whatnot, not business policy.

There won't be elections! No honest candidate will be able to make it through the big money roadblock. You'll vote for the candidate they own OR the candidate they own. The Jury is rigged. You will think what the Fat Cats WANT you to think. You'll see what they ALLOW you to see. The FIX is in. Wall St OWNS Fox News! WAKE UP!

While Wall St. may own Fox News (a boorish news network IMO), the Fed owns GM, Chrysler, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Wells Fargo and numerous other institutions. And considering the masturbatory coverage of Zero by the MSM, media corporations are probably in his pocket as well. I think the "fat cats" are not as much a concern as a massive Government that has worked it's way into damn near every facet of our lives and who is trying to muscle it's way into your health care under the guise of "social equality".

Quite a ways off there Jimbo. Trust me, your anger, while somewhat misguided, is definetly a good thing. If more people like us start showing our displeasure and make it known that we won't put up with the way our gov. is running things, no amount of money can bargain with volley fire...
