Mayan Prophecy?
Singularity Point?
Nostradamus's Predictions?
Great Conjunction? The Appocalypse? Return of Jesus? WWIII?

The End of the World? or just another year?

It will be just another year. It is not a Mayan prophecy. It is the end of their long count calendar and the calendar will start again the following day. BTW the calendar ends on December 21st which just happens to the winter solstice. As in all ancient calendars it is based on celestial observation.

There are some people that combing through Nostradamus' prophecies trying to relate anything to 2012. so fare the result is zero, zilch, and nothing.

I can't see you worrying about he return of Jesus, Jenae, since you are a self proclaimed non-believer in Christianity.

There is no great conjunction nor is there an alignment of celestial bodies.

World War III is always a possibility.

21st December 2012 - In England we need the world to end about 6 months earlier, that way we wouldn't have to suffer the nightmare of hosting what could be the most disasterous Olympic Games in living memory!:lol::lol:

The only way 12-21-12 will mark the end of days is the 12 presidental election ends up in the hands of the unsupreme court and on 12-21-12 they decide Sarah Palin is the next president, If that happens the whole world is doomed

I think that the whole 2012 thing is BS. Just because the calendar ends every year doesn't mean that the whole world is gonna end.:frown:

Nostradamus needs to lay off the Ergot tainted cornbread.

The the singularity will only happen if someone divides by zero AND turns on the Large Hadron Collider at the same time.

The stars have probably been aligning on me constantly which would explain the neverending shitty luck that oh so wonderfully follows me. That one is out.

The Apocalypse? Only if it is Ragnarok, The Viking Apocalypse. I look forward to the day when I may fight alongside Thor and the legions of Viking warriors.

The second coming of Christ. He is probably so disgusted with humanity that he doesn't care anymore and has left us to destroy ourselves. Either that or multiple Santa's will show up to save a robot along with his friend Jesus*(see pic below)

WWIII? Hopefully WWZ! I also relish the prospect of a zombie apocalypse.

TEOTWAWKI? Probably not, unless ObaMao gets reelected and decides to destroy America for good. Sarah Palin, while being a smoking hot MILF, is also a bad choice. I hope that Ron or Rand Paul will be the leader that we are looking for.

Remember Y2K?

Potential solar flares could disrupt global satelites and communications. And in mass hysteria mankind claws it's own eyes out .... meanwhile in Amish country they raise another barn and life goes on.

And a Zombie appocalypse could be neat , as i've watched the Romero films , mastered the Resident Evil games and Left 4 Dead , Dead Rising and have a plan.

I think it will end up being just another day(I am sure some people will kill themselves just like at all the other Doomsdays that have occurred in the past).

It looks like the movie will be an entertaining one, though.:)

Well thats what they said about the year 2000 they said that the
end will be when we will lose all electric power! and we will die off
when the year 2000 came around but that never happend!.
i think it just might be a new beginning for all mankind
true they might be some disasters here and there, they also said that
jesus would also make a second return after 2000 years and that never happend. i think 2012 will just be another year for all of us
the end of the world in my opinion is that will be the day you die
is the end.

Can't say I buy into the whole "the end is near" thing. I mean how many times have we heard it now? First it supposed to be 1990. Then 1999. Then 2000. Then 2005. Now it's 2012.

If the Mayans were so insightful and advanced, one might ask why they're not still around.

There are still over 6 Million Mayans around. There were many tries to control and proselytize them, and diseases had also an influence (like most of indigenous peoples in America). The Christian church destroyed most of there culture, but they are not wiped out.

I don't think they care about the end of the world in 2012.

The Yellowstone super volcano will have a huge eruption, a large asteroid will impact the ocean causing a towering tidal wave, California will fall off into the ocean, the earth's core will stop rotating, and the sun will go super nova on us.

Just another day.

If Yellowstone goes boom, I will too. It's not that far from where I live. So while I can laugh about California sliding into the ocean, it's a bit more sobering when we talk about Yellowstone possibilities.

No offense to your Yellowstone concerns, but I thought that Yellowstone supervolcano scene in the movie was AWESOME. They talked about the caldera that was, is? there and how it erupted in the past. For those who don't know, it's a magma reservoir under the crust that's the size of 2-3 states. There's a few normal size volcanos on top of it, that erupt occasionally and relieve the pressure, sometimes too much, so that the entire region collapses and you've got magma going everywhere. :turnon:

I saw a tv show about it, and they said there was some evidence for some global catastrophe about 5000 years ago that they knew of. They thought it was going to happen again and figured that it would come on winter solstice, 2012.

There is no evidence the Yellowstone caldera is on the verge of eruption. However, 600,000 years ago it did erupt and covered much of the US with ash, all the way to San Diego. An eruption of this magnitude today would essentially destroy the US and turn the world into a perennial winter for years.

Actually, since the beginning of 2009, Yellowstone has been recording higher than normal activity, which has worried geologists that something is up. Perhaps not a full-out eruption like in the movie 2012, but some sort of activity that could push its way through.

TIME Magazine did an article on it at the start of the year...

http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1869313,00.html

Overall, Yellowstone is much more active than most people suspect. In fact, courtesy of the USGC (the U.S. Geological Survey), here is the activity from only last month ago...

Yellowstone Summary: During the month of October 2009, 218 earthquakes were located in the Yellowstone National Park region. The largest event was a magnitude 2.5 on October 15 at 3:39 PM MDT, located about 7 miles south southeast of West Thumb, Yellowstone NP. This event was the largest event in a swarm of 138 earthquakes that occurred October 12-23, with magnitudes ranging from -0.2 to 2.5.

That was the Aztecs who primarily got fucked. The Mayans sided with Cortez because they, along with the Incas, were pissed off about being conquered by the Aztecs all the time.
