It is the contention of several members that the download limit be raised in order that more members be able to view/download attachments.

It seems to me that it is only a few members. If people are that desperate to download pictures then go to the free sites (of which there are a plethora) which feature unlimited viewing and downloads.

The present download Lt. is enough.
The restrictions make it more interesting. The new members have to post more and gain the status of Sr. member. This little hardship of posting give us the feeling of worthiness.

Its much better than the tube sites, where you dont even need to be a member to download huge movies. There is no relationship or interaction between members. We on the other hand are so much nearer to each other. We opine, argue praise, fight, tease, appreciate and feel the deep bond of friendship grown through months of interaction. Is it not so much better?

As far as participation goes, members who only join to take and take (pictues and video links) and give nothing back (as comments and posts) are not worth the bandwidth cost.

at first i didnt realize there was a limit and then i hit 5 or whatever it was and was cockblocked. it said to leave - i was like fuck that, i still wanna read and comment and contribute - so i stayed and kept doing this throughout my first few days and now the last limit i saw was like 225 or some shit - i dont know if these perameters go up or if i hit a plateau sooner or later but now i find myself running out of time rather than pic limits.

I would disagree to the amount of members. There are many that sing up, want to download and than stop coming here, because it is too much work to post, or give something back, or collect downloads over several days.
But these Members would never be part of the forum community. I agree with rockabilly, that a forum isn't a primary download side.

As I ran the first time into the download limit I thought: Damn, not more to view. And the second thought was: Okay, what can I do to give something back.
But I never thought that it is unfair or something likes this.

i honestly think that shows what they are here for. it is my opinion they (the other ranks - of which i still consider myself to be because i have not even been here a month!) dont even realize this part of the forum exists therefore they wont be weighing in because they are too busy tryin to get pics

Indeed, the point of limits is to encourage participation, not punish. Personally, I wish an easy way existed to make it impossible for anyone to post, endlessly, one-word or one-phrase expressions of how much they like this or that group of photos, which is clearly done to bend the "letter of the law" with respect to the participation issue.

I did vote to increase the d/l limits,,, I'm not a big collector anyway, and I guess I've made enough comments, so the limits really haven't affected me. Since the pics are here already, I don't see much point in limiting access to them. If you don't wanna be involved w/ the site I don't think more or less access will change that...

As a newbie, what I find a bit discouraging, in terms of the limits, is limiting the number of post one makes. In point of fact, I had to wait a day to answer this poll and post this. I would like to be very active, but once my daily limit is reached for posting and downloading, I turn off the forum. I do this because if I don't, I generate a backlog of writing which turns into more a chore than a joy.

It is more fun to be spontaneous and explore rather than contrive to bookmark a thread for the future and then go back a day or so later and write a response. At the moment of reading one wishes to respond. A a response at a later time doesn't seem as valuable since enthusiasm may have diminished.

Also, I believe limits on posting, at least for me, keep me from casual comments or commenting at all since there are only so many posts one can make a day. And I believe the actual count is not accurate...I could have sworn I only made four posts today and it says I made eight or so.

I have also noticed that responses from many posters tend to come in the form of appreciation, but not necessarily heart felt. I believe many posters post blah but nice comments just to beef up their download limit. While this does generate a large number of posts, they are almost spam-ish in content. This type of post is also very easy to bypass since they are usually one short line, so no biggie really.

All this being said, I think the limit thing is working overall since there seems to be very little flaming and there is lots of activity. It might be better for newbies to have a somewhat larger quota after a week or so of interest in the forum...maybe this is the case already and I am just unaware since I am a newbie. Regardless of what is entailed, I will most likely be around for quite awhile and the limits on downloading and posting are just more a pain in the ass than a real deterrent from the forum...but then I am not a casual ladyboy fan either.

...and really, who the hell would want me to have the ability to post more? I can certainly run my mouth on and on and on and on and on and on...

I'd like the download limit increased, maybe not hugely but it is frustrating to hit a limit of 10 images when first browsing the site and my inclination was to go elsewhere. I think you'd actually get more participation if you raised the limit a little - might be counter-intuitive but giving stuff away for free is how the internet works.

The limits exist to encourage substantive posts and discourage posts that do nothing but waste bandwidth. Knowing that, it seems to me that any reasonable member would know which way to vote in this poll.

It didn't take me too long to get to the point where the limit didn't affect me (I don't even know what my limit is anymore). And by the time I got to that point I had developed a real liking to this forum and even though I probably have most of the pics I want from this forum (excluding the new stuff posted and a few threads here and there) I still keep coming back.

To be honest, if it wasn't for the limiter I most likely would've grabbed as many pics as I could in a week or so without making any posts, thus not getting involved in the site, and that would've been a shame. The other TGirl forum I frequent I've been a member for a couple years now but only posted a couple of times.

Voting for keeping it as is.

I'll be honest, I found this site through a search for Aprilzart (Aprilz Art). And I joined just to look at the pics. But I think the participation / limit is a great idea!

Assuming people notice that junk posts are discouraged. I've gone through 47 pages of the toons already, but I'll return often just to participate. I've very impressed by some of the guys on this site.

Probably I am a little out of order here, as I strayed from the point of this thread, and also have very limited download tastes, but it seems to me that a download reward might also be allocated against the number of picture uploads a members makes - e.g. based also on their provision of visual tasty material for other members ?

I have other reasons for enjoying this forum, the discussion threads being the main one.

I like the theory behind the download limits. Although in my efforts to contribute some pics and links, I was blocked because I hadn't reached 10 posts yet. Kinda confused about that one. Anywho I like this forum.
