OK for starters i'm sad that David Tennant is gone and i'm all for this new younger Doctor ... but they had better put him in a new suit NOW!! He looks like Orville Redenbachers grandson! Pass on that or shoot him w/ a Dalek deathray and maybe the next regeneration will have better fashion sense.

Pass on that or shoot him w/ a Dalek deathray and maybe the next regeneration will have better fashion sense. This is the 11th DR after him comes DR number 12 and then no more DR, But would you prefer a bright yellow suit with question marks? Face it the DR's never had much fashion sense but the 5th DR looked the best :inlove: Jerseygirl Jen

No there would be a 13th Doctor as that is the final and fatal regeneration. But Timelords can recharge their regenerations but it takes 4 or more and the eye of Rassilon back on Gallifrey to do it.

transjen
07-21-2009, 12:20 AM
I was always under the impression the number 12 was the final one, Anywho i kinda dout the series will last to number 13, One of the rumors floating around was that the new DR was going to be a very young 1st DR starting off with his escape but i guess that idea fell thru  Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
07-21-2009, 12:32 AM
that would have been a clever twist. But this way they can reintroduce more timelords and timeladies. The Master will return , The Rani was supposed to be played by Joan Collins then regenerate into a younger form , Romana will return and The Meddling Monk are all rumored to return.

transjen
07-21-2009, 12:52 AM
I've read somewhere that the meddling monk was the Master in his prevous regenaration , I was wondering when Romana was going to show up agian, I alway felt Romana deservered a series of her own and not Sarah Jane and the awful K-9 and company one shot from the 80s  Jerseygirl Jen

And is it just me or does the Tardis look ... boxier and ... cleaner , almost like it's 'new'? Guess it was time to bulid a new one for the show, i've heard the inside will look more like the inside from the 60s and there will be a new opening theme  Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
07-21-2009, 02:17 PM
I guess so ... but how new can the theme be? Right when i get used to it they change it. I'm still gonna watch but his suit just sucks. Tennants style was perfect and in Matts promo pics it looked like he would have carried a little of that over w/ him. Google him and you'll see the style i mean. I have the grey suit Matt Smith as my avatar on another forum.

transjen
07-21-2009, 02:45 PM
I believe a new production team is taking over with the start of the 11th DR so i guess the new opening theme is there way of saying we're here, I hope that the 5th DR will be teaming up with the new guy, I always like Peter Davison and yes i think he was the cutest DR :inlove: Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
07-21-2009, 03:22 PM
New team all around, and the more i look at that Tardis pic the bigger it looks lol . I wonder if Jenny , his daughter will show up?

transjen
07-21-2009, 06:25 PM
The return of Jenny has been rumored for some time she'll show up one day i'm sure  Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly

Rumor: Jenny is Captain Jacks mom ... so thd Doctor is Jacks grandfather.

transjen
07-21-2009, 06:56 PM
That's a new one as i've haven't heard that one but sadly i'm hearing that the new team is kinda casting away most of what the previous team added i also hear they are going back to the more classic Cybermen and scraping the new verson of the Cybermen so Capt Jack and Jenny may be left out in the cold for the time being :frown: Jerseygirl Jen

I'd be kinda leery about using a machine that had the word "tard" in its name. Just my 2 cents:)

I think the last two Doctor's have been sublime (Christopher Eccelstone and David Tennant), so Matt Smith has some big shoes to fill. I'm hoping he's going to be good for the role, although not holding my breath.

Matt Smith wasnt the person I was actually hoping for to be the next doctor, though.

Robert Carlyle was one of the actors considered , but he is joining the new Stargate show.

07-23-2009, 05:16 PM
So was Eddie Izzard , Jason Statham , James Nesbitt , Bill Nighy ( from underworld , not the science guy ) and the actor who played Dr. Moon in the library episode , he would have been the only black Doctor.

CuriousJim
07-23-2009, 05:53 PM
Patterson Joeseph would have been good for the role. I'm not the only one to have said that openly either, quite a few people have said he would have been good.

He hasnt really had any big time shows, but what he has starred in, he has been excellent. Survivors is his most recent TV series (I think), which was a great show

Most long time DR WHO fans are never happy when a new DR takes over, No one was jumping for joy when David Tenent was announced to be the new DR but he won over most of the fans and is on most fans fav list ranking up there with Tom Baker  Jerseygirl Jen

I was only surprised that Christopher Eccleston only stayed for one season. I heard he didn't want to get typed cast and he wanted to move on, He's in the new GI-JOE movie he plays Destro but i think he would have made a great Zartan  Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
07-24-2009, 07:35 AM
Hmmm Destro ... the Doctor ... I'd rather be type cast as the Doctor. Doctor Who has such a rich history and is cool. Destro , not so much. He was also the invisible man on Heroes.

I'm waiting for the 5th season a long time ago. Honestly, I don't like Matt Smith but Karen Gillan is pretty good choice. In fact she was in Dr. Who when the Doctor was with Donna and I'm talking about the episode where they go to Pompeii, she was with red robe. Too bad they didn't took that character of her and like the Doctor finds her and actually he'll have not normal human being, but that's just imagination, lol. So good luck to Matt, hope he'll not screw up the work, and I believe he wouldn't anyway. From the new series however the 9th Doctor played by Christopher Eccleston was the best. He played the role like THE DOCTOR. And I hope Karen Gillan wouldn't be the next love of the Doctor, it's too stupid again to entertain by love. Donna was different from Martha and Rose and that's what I liked. She was normal woman and no love between them, just trust and believe. Christina from Planet of the Dead however was the best companion so far but they screwed it up again when she kissed Tennant in the flying bus. A part from the kiss, she has the bus and maybe we'll see her again. Also I hope to see again Jenny, the Doctor's daughter and River Song.

rockabilly
07-24-2009, 10:36 AM
I dont think that we will see River Song again ... at least on tv. They may make her adventures w/ the Doctor into a series of novels that would expand on the 10th Doctors stories. Remember she knew his name ... and he can only reveal his real name when ... ( i think during wedding vows )

LadyboyJerker
07-24-2009, 11:48 AM
Exactly, but it will be stupid with another spin-off. I mean other TV show like Sarah Jane's. Sarah Jane and Torchwood was enough and were really good. Anyway there were K9 spin-off also. I'm now thinking what would be the cause of the regeneration to the 11th Doctor. I don't think it'll be the Daleks one more time or the Cybermen. The Slitheens wouldn't be neither way, so what would be. However I'm looking forward to "Waters of Mars". If it's gonna be christmas special maybe there we'll see the regeneraion. Anyway glad that there are Doctor Who fans, lol.

rockabilly
07-24-2009, 01:09 PM
Paul McGann was the 8th Doctor for just the one movie but the 8th Doctor was in several books. I dont see why Tennants Doctor cant continue in written form ... or animated form. And Jen i love your avatar , i changed mine back to 10 :)
But lets have theories ... When can the Doctor reveal his name?
1. Marriage
2. Sworn is as President
3. ???

That's the wonderfull thing about the current DR WHO novels the writers are free to use any of the 10 DRs for there story ,the last one i read had the 5th DR and NYSSA :inlove: Funny thing is before DR WHO was first aired on the sci-fi channel i found one of the DR WHO novels at the mall staring the 9th DR and ROSE so i had an idea of who the new DR and ROSE were 3 months before they were first aired here in the states  Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
07-24-2009, 11:41 PM
Martha felt a little drab and flat to me. She had a more family centric life before meeting the Doctor , i mean we meet her entire family in the first five min. of series 3. And while traveling w/ the Doctor she realized how much she missed them and opted to not keep traveling. She was ok but like you said Rose was hard to follow ...

07-29-2009, 11:06 PM
Wal-Mart seems to be doing double packs w/ blu-ray ... example Mission Impossible 1 and 2 packed together and stuff like that. If blu-rays have so much more storage capacity, why not put the whole trilogy on one disc? I'm content w/ my DVD's and standard def tv. I'll upgrade when my tv dies.

transjen
07-29-2009, 11:17 PM
I think it's the same reason VHS movies only had a single movie on em if you recorded in sp the picture quilty was better but you had less time on the tape sp only gave you two hours recording time instead of the six hours on lp mode

transjen
07-31-2009, 11:20 PM
How did you guess, Yeah i got HE-MAN instead which wasn't a bad thing because i loved the show back when i was a kid but i really wanted SHE-RA and you're darn right i would have pretended i was SHE-RA, But the funny thing is i did get Scarlett from GI-JOE never understood that one
 Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
07-31-2009, 11:31 PM

transjen

transjen
08-03-2009, 12:37 AM
Now that's a movie i'd love to see, I just hope they don't screw it up as the track record for making a cartoon in to a live action movie has been pretty bad SCOOBY DOO was ok but the cartoons are way better
 Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
08-03-2009, 12:48 AM
But who should be Minmei and Lisa Hayes ? Casting is crucial Edward James Olmos as Admiral Glover... maybe. James Marsters (Spike) as Roy Fokker ... could work. Of course this is just my opinion. Leonardo DiCaprios production company snagged the rights to AKIRA.

transjen
08-03-2009, 12:53 AM
There is only one person who can play Lisa Hayes and that's me

Jenae LaTorque
08-03-2009, 11:23 PM
Yup, I hate it also. I have always envied those who have the gift of seeming to have a snappy comeback ready. You know one way to have such a thing; be an actor in a play or movie where it's all scripted and rehearsed. LOL That is the advantage of the stars, our perception of them is based a lot on what the script says and not what they are really like.

rockabilly
08-03-2009, 11:28 PM

Maybe the rumored Doctor Who movie will shed some light on the Time War.

transjen
08-06-2009, 02:47 PM
I dout it, At best the Time War will be a novel since the Time War will have to star the 8th DR
 Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
08-06-2009, 11:20 PM
But it would be epic , And would reveal what led to the 8th Doctors regeneration.

transjen
08-06-2009, 11:44 PM
Yes it would but the only 8th DR episode was filmed back in the mid 90s and he'll be kinda on the old side to film a DR WHO, I was amazed the even count him as an offical DR as they could have easily not counted him
 Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
08-06-2009, 11:53 PM
He only had that one movie but was in many novels and audio plays. But if not the Time War what would the movie be about ? It would have to fit in between season 4 and 5 if Tennant plays the Doctor or before season 1 if Eccleston takes the role. Unless it's a multi Doctor story ...

transjen
08-07-2009, 12:00 AM
If i was in charge i'd do a pre 1st DR and show how he escaped in the TARDIS with his grand daughter Susan and perhaps have the movie end where AN UNEARTHLY CHILD began

rockabilly
08-07-2009, 12:17 AM
That would be cool , he stole the TARDIS from ... i think Marnal was the name of the timelord. To go off on adventures and shirk his Timelord responsibilities ... but all the members of his class were "troublemakers"
The Doctor
The Master
Rami
War Chief
The Monk
all in the same clique in school.

transjen
08-07-2009, 12:29 AM
Maybe i can be cast as the RANI
 Jersetgirl Jen

rockabilly
08-07-2009, 12:42 AM
No ... your not evil enough , your President Romanna potential. ;)

transjen
08-07-2009, 12:59 AM
Oh great she won't be in the movis thanks alot
:( Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
08-07-2009, 01:18 AM
She'd be in it ... i just dont remember if she was in his class or not. She is older , as she had control over her regenerations ... to the point where she could "choose" and cycle through possible appearances and gender until finding one that she liked , then she would finish the process of regeneration. ( out of breath )

transjen
08-07-2009, 01:39 AM
Watch the last episode of the 2nd DR WAR GAMES in it the 2nd DR was at first allowed to pick his new apperance but he himed and huled so much the concil got pissed and just picked his new apperance, And Romana got to pick because it was a vountery regenaration
:yes:Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
08-07-2009, 01:52 AM
Ahh i see. The first regeneration is supposed to be the most painful. Apparently there were rumors that thats when timelords gain their second heart ... but the Doctor has contradicted that statement before ... then again he gets confused about his age and is suspect.

transjen
08-07-2009, 01:57 AM
The first DR refers to his two Hearts in some of his episodes and the DR always had trouble with converting his age in to human years
 Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
08-07-2009, 02:05 AM
Whats your theory about his name ? When is the one time he can reveal it ?

I say wedding vows.

I think River Song became his wife.

transjen
08-07-2009, 02:42 PM
I think his name is DR due to the fact that when the show was created they just called him the DR and never thought the show would still be on the air 46 years later the DR is the DR like MR SPOCK is just MR SPOCK nuff said of i think he should marry Romana or ROSE
 Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
08-07-2009, 03:39 PM
Rose is gone forever :( but she has the Doctor clone ... See he knows that at one point he will meet River and he will tell her his name ... so he must tell her ... it's a causeality paradox.

transjen
08-07-2009, 03:45 PM
Yes he'll tell her his last name is Doctor and his first name is The so her new name would be River Doctor
 Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
08-07-2009, 04:04 PM
He was called Theta Sigma , but the Doctor said it was a nickname that he had in school ... i forget which Doctor said it , i think it was the 7th.

transjen
08-07-2009, 05:30 PM
That sounds more like a frat house then a name

transjen
08-07-2009, 11:17 PM
I'm still working on Nyssa and i'm thinking of making Tegan and Peri and of course i'm also working on the 5th DR Peter Davidson, True story i almost picked Nyssa as my new name
 Jerseygirl Jen

 Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
08-08-2009, 05:49 PM
Well i'm happy that Jen is here. ;) Now who should play Rani when she returns? Joan Collins wanted to reintroduce the character then regenerate ... but then who should be cast?

transjen
08-08-2009, 05:57 PM
Billie Piper, This would be a good way to bring her back to DR WHO plus it would really f:censored: his mind
 Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
08-08-2009, 06:05 PM
Oooh w/ her natural dark hair to differentiate them. Good choice Jen ... i was going to say the actress who played Jane on coupling and on Jeckyl as his wife.

transjen
08-08-2009, 06:10 PM
Another great choice would have been the woman who played Dianah on V and played princess Adala on Buck Rogers in the 25th century but she's kinda old now but she would have been great in the role back in the 80s
 Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
08-08-2009, 06:21 PM
They would need an older woman to bring the character back. Joan Collins at the time was working on Footballers Wives and said she would do it in a heartbeat , that she liked the character. But as far as the Rani re-intro got was the womans hand w/ red nail polish picking up The Masters ring from his ashes . ( which contains his essence )

transjen
08-08-2009, 06:32 PM
Which means she'll clone the Master since playing with DNA was her thing but i still say give the role to Billie Piper
 Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
08-08-2009, 06:40 PM
YES!! And you convinced me ... Billie Piper should be the new Rani ... but will she come back to Doctor Who ?

transjen
08-08-2009, 06:57 PM
Will i don't live in England so i have no idea if she's on stage or doing another show but i think she might consider the role as it''s a role totaly differnt from Rose. Anywho going to snuggle up with my boyfriend on the couch and watch a movie on DVD i'll be back on around 11 tonight
 Jerseygirl Jen

transjen
08-09-2009, 02:20 PM
Sorry Jeff is no more in fact i can safely say that the last remaining traces of Jeff were done away with in Thailand, In fact you could just say that Jeff regenarated in to Jennifer in Thailand
 Jerseygirl Jen

rockabilly
08-09-2009, 02:28 PM

Sidenote - That is the best regeneration ever. ;)

transjen

1. First Aid Kit
2. Bottled Water
3. Warm Blankets
4. Flashlight and Radio
5. Porno Mags
6. Spare Batteries
7. Toilet Paper / Wipes
8. Road Flares
9. Snacks like trail mix/protein bars
10. Gas can.
Carl is just bein cautious. ;)

transjen
08-09-2009, 06:12 PM
Most of that list makes sense but porno mags? Guess i'm to much of a girl but i rember when i was in my early teens and a buddy of mine found a stack of porno mags and him and my friends were all happy looking at them and i was thinking jeez i would love to be the centerfold chick
