I was fed up with redhead and used a photo to trace lines of blonde body and face. Redhead was hand-made completely. I hope somewhere i'll be able to manage my hands and brain to draw better... (

Liza, why dont you trace lines from your own photo like you did with the Blonde's? That way, the result will definitely look more impressive. The blonde looks 10 times better than the redhead due to the touch of reality. But I am not discouraging you to draw from your mind, without reference. Yet, practically speaking, if you draw from a reference photo, the artwork looks more convincing.

Yes, I know that photo tracing gives better results. But it makes a limits for me, it's impossible to develope skills if always follow this way. I lost too much time to learn, probably I'll be able to get some skills at least. I think the best way is not to post in public dubious results, if I'm not sure that it's not too bad. I try and experiment with different techniques; like realistic digital painting, cartoon style, use of lines and dots, sketch style hatching. I finally rely on one technique that give me maximum satisfaction and pain ;). Yes, Pain. The more the pain and mental focus, the more is the amount of satisfaction I get after completion. I just look at the picture and all the memories come back to me vividly. What is your story?

I'll try to elucidate my point, there's nothing something special...
I think each artist find his own "know-how" to get the best result in his own style.
Concerning technic, I' m a noob and I use photos to take figure and faces from them. It is clear how to collage some pics with Photoshop to create a new scene and it is not technic question. It's also clear how to put a sheet of paper to the screen and scetch a figure's lines. It's routine.
What is interesting - how to fill scene with drive of light and dark, shadowplay, how to make light flow etc. And how to make the scene exciting for me, to make it push to my fetishes.
I also use digital painting with planshet, Photoshop and ArtRage; drawing technic is not software, I'm talking about combination of all instrument, paper, dgital, real and virual inks or pencils...

PS. What do you mean "pain"? Physical or menthal?...
When I started to use planshet for drawing, I've got a lot of pain in my hand).

You've guessed correctly about crayon and photoshop, it's easy to put the drawing in a wrong way with one uncorrect movement of hand and impossible to repair with eraser).
Concerning daughter, yes, I'm stepfather; offline I'm not a bugger but burher, :yes: and I hope I'll be a father soon). I suppose that soon I will not have enough time to draw. Daughter is 10 years old, of course she doesn't know anything about this side of my art.


My avatar is my real photo, I can't do anymore with my face, it was one of the best sessions))). I took part in russian TV/CD community some years ago, and I've got a plenty of snapshots like that. Now I'm off, I feel more freedom and pleasure in art.

Some new works. They have been done for competition opened by one russian blogger, that's why the text is russian.
I don't want to translate; just an ordinary dialog that everybody could read in "sissy" captions and toons, but the man is a professor and he speaks using archaic expressions that I don't know how to translate. I thought about prequel but I still don't have any clear conception for it, or I have too much different conceptions of the story line...

So if it is interesting for you to tell your opinion about the transformation story, you're welcome. I suppose it will help me to clear up the story and combining your ideas and fantasies with mine and find an interesting conception.
