I dunno about you guys, but I went to watch the new James Bond last night and was even more turned off than with Daniel Craig's first Bond movie - shit, I think even George Bush would be more fit for the role...

Sporadic action, no sequence, not even a the hint of a plot and absolutely humourless. They even felt too intellectual to keep the good old Bond theme song...

What is this world not coming to? Well, Barack is a plus, but Bond is truly asleep, I fear...

They seemed to miss the point completely - trying to fix what wasn't broke - "brand-regeneration" when least needed...

None of this:

Hi, I'm Plenty.
But of course you are.
Plenty O'Toole.
Named after your father perhaps?

Oh, that's bad news. :( I haven't even seen his first Bond movie yet but I'll watch that one soon. The Bond theme is gond, I guess still no gadgets, I don't like the sound of that.
The game based on the movie is a huge pile of shit :censored: but I was hoping the movie itself would be at least good. Oh well, I'll watch them anyway... :frown:

have to agree with hank though i'm not a big bond fan anyway, i've only seen casino royal and danniel craig is devoid of personality. bring back sean connery, OAP bond would be awesome.

Actually, I doubt the problem is the actors... I'm certain Daniel Craig is talented, but it seems that there has been a change in the style of the direction that I, at least, find quite... un-Bond...

Well, as the man said... we had our kicks... ;-) But trying to compete with "The Matrix" and "Kill Bill" in cynichism is hardly a prudent way for light-hearted one-liners ;-)

And WHAT is Bond without his dumb little one-liners and Q any ways?

"... seems you missed the spot... MoneyPenny..."

The movie just came out in the US today, I'm sure I'll see it online. The review in paper today said the problem isn't so much the Matrix and Kill Bill as much as Austin Powers and Jason Bourne.
I hope I'm one of the weird guys that likes the movie.

Well, I watched Casino Royale the other day and I have to say I didn't like it very much... Craig is a great actor but he just isn't a good Bond. Though the movie started very well but soon it became boring. I like that they focused more on the character but the whole movie was weak as a Bond film. And from what I saw after peeking into the new one, QoS won't be a lot better either. :(

So yeah, after the great Bond films with Brosnan, it is a letdown. :(
