I was fantasy day-dreaming the other day ( as I do sometimes ), and I was vaguely wondering if any of you research guys had given some thought to the feasibility of creating a sexually-functional Hermaphrodite using surgery and hormone treatment. I don't think penis transplants or womb transplants are achievable, but how would a mediacl team set about such a creation ?
Would they start with an anatomical Female and add the male bits, or start with a male and add the female trimmings. The result would be sexually versatile to say the least, and just think of two of them getting stuck in !

I doubt whether Nature has ever seen the need to create valid human hermaphrodites. I think the whole idea of Creating them by Design faintly repugnant - it's bad enough for those rare but unfortunate individuals who do possess vestigial organs of both sexes. I would think they'd rather be placed in one catgory or the other instead of being regarded as some sort of freaks. I did a search on the Internet, and found that there have been a number or hermaphrodites who have been subjected to summary surgery whilst very young, before they could get any sense of sexual identity, and it appears the surgical choices were wrong.
