Post images of your pets, describe their habits & personalities (Oooo yeah!). Or if you dont have one, tell us what you would like to keep?

As for me, I have dogs and cats running around the place. :)

Last year, I had a tank full of fishes. Unfortunately, (or fortunately) they are all in heaven now.

I don't have any pets now and I haven't had one for a long time. I would like to get a dog again sometime. I prefer Samoyeds, or Malamutes, or Newfoundlanders. They are all big, hairy, friendly, and love companionship.

I (we) have 2 dogs. Family dogs. The big one's a mutt. Some Sheperd, some.....i dunno. lol

The small one's a peekapoo. He's the bossy one who pretty much intimidates the big goofy one whose scared of his own shadow. Even though the big one could snap him up like a tic-tac. lol. Kinda funny how that works.

Little dogs, Napoleon Complex. Don't have the pics right now.

I have two cats and a dog...

The cats consist of a rescue finds...My oldest is a tabby that I found in the trash many years ago. He is COMPLETELY motivated by food, he is such a glutton that he will give kisses and do tricks to get fed. The other cat came a couple years later and arrived va a pet store that was peddling rescue animals...This critter really played us...He's part manx and has a short tail, but we assumed that he had been abused and had his tail cut off...He really played sweet prior to us adopting him...

Once we got him home, he showed his true colors. That cat was/is a real ass, he is definitely the alpha male of the bunch of our pets, never mind that he is the smallest of our critters. He will attack the other cat and dog, no thoughts considered...

Our dog escaped from a nearby animal shelter and had been outside for several days. He was quite the survivor, we lured him in with some food and he became our perpetual friend. We think he has some terrier in him, but at any rate, he sleeps with me and is really one of my best friends...

We think we are the cleverer species, but some animals still manage to trick us! Also there are many instances where a small dog inspires fear in a bigger dog! The self image is inside the mind; like a small woman can play a big man like a puppet! ;) Take this as an example:

Is that fear so intense that you cant even post your pet's snapshots?

we had a family dog when i was younger, a boxer called mike i used to come in on a saturday night off my head on E's and sit talking to him till the next day. obviously he couldn't speak but i think he understood what i was saying. i always used to get him high and watch TV with him. he loved to get stoned it sounds stupid but he did and he had tv shows he liked and tv shows he hated, and even liked some kinds of music. i loved that dog. when he died it was like loosing a close family member, i still have dreams about him all the time. i haven't been able to get another dog since he died.

I have two cats, a brother and sister who live with my mother in Renton. Their names are Liv and Eddie. They're both B&Ws, but Liv is medium-hair, while Eddie's short-hair.
Liv is very sweet; it doesn't take much to get her purring (but tummy rubs are a no-no). She has a cute high-pitched meow, which is why we sometimes call her "Meepers" or "Meepies." She's the more aggressive cat, so it's not uncommon to see her yowling at some other feline outside.
Eddie, on the other hand, can be (a bit exaggeratedly) described as a "nervous wreck," or better yet, the proverbial scaredy-cat. One sudden loud noise and he's ducking under Mom's bed or in the cardboard box he and Liv use as a hidey-hole, tail poking out. His favorite place to be is in Mom's lap. He'll respond if he's asked "Can you say 'Meow?'" more often than not. While he isn't as affectionate as his sis, he still loves attention. We refer to him as "Butt Wiggler" 'cause he likes to playfully pounce on Liv.

How about having snakes as pets? Fabulous, isnt it? I had a snake once, it was a baby. But it was not eating anything, so I had to let it go. (Into my garden, he he :p . I was a small boy then. )

I live alone without any pets these days. How ever, there are many cats in Jakarta - the very short-tailed version which in the beginning freaked me out a bit - I was not used to seeing no-tailed cats :-)

My first x-wife and me had a veritable zoo, though, with 6 cats, 4 horses, 2 coati and even a parrot :-) They live at her place now. I've had cats since childhood, so it's kind of new to me not having any living with me.

I have two cats, a Labrador retriever that I have joint custody of, and two ferrets. I did have some fish but the cats went fishing one day and you can guess the rest. I came home and the tank was fishless. The cats were hiding out. I brought the Lab inside and he flushed the guilty parties out for a good talking to.
The cats are named Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (the two assassins in "Hamlet"). The Lab's name is "Charger". The ferrets are named Sneak and Snoop, and they are dedicated ankle and toe biters. The cats give them a wide berth. The Lab just growls when they try to sneak up for a bite of his tail and they disappear like smoke.
Charger would never hurt the cats 'cause they are close friends. They nap together and actually groom each other. It takes the two cats an hour to give Charger a bath but he can lick them all over in about a minute.
Charger once got really upset with one of the ferrets and grabbed it. I thought the ferret was a goner but Charger just dropped her, made a face, and then ran out to the koi pond and dove in. Ferrets have a certain "air" about them, and Charger learned the hard way. I gave him a peppermint candy. The Koi were not amused.

I am a bit confused on the last para, though. Does a ferret smell really foul or taste awful? Also, do they like to bite people's toes?

I enjoyed the whole story, thank you.

I love animals. My brother has two big lab mixes and they are just so super to be around. When I get my own place (and save up some cash) I totally want to get a Shiba Inu (dog breed). Ether that, or I continue a long standing family tradition of adopting doggies from the local shelters.

It's a dream of mine to own enough land that can rescue dogs and provide a home for them.

this be my beastie. answers to the name beckham. apparently coz he likes to play with balls. but i think its coz he has no balls:lol: strangely though he has gone a bit feral and only pirches up when its feeding time. he also has a habit of walking in front of people, as if he is the leader of a gang or somesuch. and he has a openly displayed disdain for dogs.

Ferrets have a sharp musk but it isn't noticeable until you are very close to them. They love to attack as part of their play and feet are at their level, but they are easily controlled. When I wear an ankle bracelet they really are attracted to it. The males are larger and are more aggressive and harder to manage than the females unless they've been castrated.
They always back into a corner to poop so that they can't be ambushed from the rear. Their poop is like tan toothpaste, is odorless until REALLY close, and dries into a hard little coil in a very short time. Mine are litter box trained but if one poops elsewhere I just wait a while and it's easy to pick up.

No, not an author.

1) Do the males have musk or both the sexes?

2) Gathering from your other posts, I think that you have a thing for castration. Are the male ferrets castrated too? ;)

3) Good observation. How did you interpret their behavior? :respect:

Yes, I've recently come to realize that I AM fascinated by castration. Safe enough for me anyway, since I'm a female. I was "Brought out" by another girl who is really into it. Thanks to her I've met three castrated men and, recently, a castrated Asian ladyboy. I've had some fun with one of the men (he's bisexual) and am anticipating some sexual exploration with the ladyboy.
There are some other females in our little circle. I'm surprised at the number of women who are "into" castration.

Ferrets: Both sexes have musk. The male of the pair has been "fixed". He's still a little terrorist.
I did some reading before I adopted the ferrets. They were owned by a friend who was moving to some faraway spot and couldn't take them along.
Ferrets always "cover their back" when going to the potty.
Mine are litter-box trained and seldom have accidents.
They love to play in water and they are very clean.
When they finally wear themselves (and me) out by playing, they are content to cuddle with me for a nap...nice.
Last year I took them on a visit to a friend in Oklahoma. It snowed and we took the ferrets out to play. Well, they burrowed under the snow and it took forever to find them. I nearly froze.

I'm not a pic poster. A friend of mine got into some serious trouble about two years ago by posting personal pics. I won't put myself at risk.

I know what you mean by "I won't put myself at risk. Links,OK. Personal pics, No way." Last month, I posted my real face in the avatar. But after two days, when most of my friends here... have seen the real me, I decided to take 'em off. Better be safe than sorry! I put Anubis instead in my avatar, as you see now.

Apart from the fear of pregnancy, I dont see any more benefits for girls to prefer castration of men. Also on a more curious note, dont they lose some sex drive after losing their balls? Do they get fatter? :p I have seen that Castrated animals become fat rather quickly!

I lived with a girl and for fun i got a budgie and called it max (it had a blue beek) which means it was male , later on i got my girl another budgie which we called grace , it was a very pretty bird and we were hoping grace and max would hit it off ???? a week after grace moved into the cage max's beek
turned pink, so now there was 2 females in a cage and they were not happy ! max would chase grace out of the cage and they were never going to be friends .... things got worse for me and the girl i was living with, and the 2 budgies always seemed to start swalking when they heard another bird outside just as we were in the middle of an arguement .. it seemed everyone in the house was argueing ..... even the birds. i ended up walking away from all of them ...... the birds as well , and i still remember my girl saying i am going to set them free , i said dont because they will not survive in the wild ?

I dont know what happened to max and grace ?? or my girl ??

Next a few years later i got some hermit crabs that were quite a different type of pet ? and they were quite funny (but wouldn't play fetch) when winter came most of them died straight away . but my favorite stayed strong until one day i looked in the tank and all its legs had fallen off !!! oh no !!!!

It just looked at me ... all i could say was 'i'm sorry' i had a name for it but i cant remember it now ..... it was a cool little critter ... oh well

Sorry to dredge up such an old topic, but I figured better late than never to get in on this.

I'm a "proud papa" to a couple of Chihuahuas, a Deer Head and an Apple Head, left to right named Sara and Bandit. Sara's a sweet, albeit needy little diva of a girl, and Bandit is a headstrong little boy and is pretty much exclusively my buddy and doesn't really care to befriend too many other people.

To make a long story short these dogs originally belonged to an old lady that wanted to have them put down when she died herself (because her son would've neglected them, abused them, etc)...fortunately for me I know said old lady's niece that sort of bypassed the woman's wishes when she passed away, and voila before you know it I own a couple of dogs I probably never would've been able to purchase outright.

My friend snapped this pic with his cell phone, so apologies if it's grainy or whatever. Basically, I don't own them, they simply have me trained...if they want a snack, I hop up and get it...if they want attention, I stop what I'm doing and pay them attention...but I wouldn't hurt these little babies for anything in the world, and they give me so much to look forward to in day-to-day life.
