How to delete

Does anyone know how to delete a contact from my hotmail.com contact list ?

Come on, help out the dumb redhead here, (LOL )
I have over time , a lot of contact names in my hotmail.com list that are no longer active. How can I delete those names from my list?
I've done "right click" and "left click" , but an option to delete, does not appear.

Click on the 9-square icon in the top left then click on People.

Select (click on) the contact you want to delete, then click the contact's delete button.

Having said that, it sounds like your Outlook is a different version. The instructions above are for Outlook.com
