A friend of mine in UK who had dressed en femme for twenty years recently learned that I was venturing out into the public in female attire wrote to give me some advice. "Don't forget men do not have a natural female smell". Therefore, chose a nice scent - he uses Chanel No5 not cheap but in a big bottle-. A little spot behind each ear and another at the top of the breast bone. Also use a female anti perspirant under each arm and in the pubic area.
Also when using the ladies toilet spray the are with a few squirts of fem fresh to leave a suggestion you may be mid period.
I tried this the other day and a young lady standing next to me at the mirror asked, knowingly, if I had a headache and offered me a paracetamol.
I was much indebted to my friend, because the advice obviously worked.
