Leading on from the totally awesome Does liking shemales make you gay? (http://forum.transladyboy.com/showthread.php?t=3835) thread,
I came across this scientific research poll in Scientific American (www.scientificamerican.com/) magazine.

I was curious what you lot would vote...:innocent:

Though saying 'gay' community is a bit vague. We are actually part of the LGBTQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Allies) community. We're all just one big minority.
And I believe we should all be fighting for equal rights for everyone. ;)

haah interesting poll.
i ticked a few options.
i live in a defacto relationship with a ts but i dont consider myself part of the LGBT community (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender community).
my gf when she was a gay boy was an active member of the community, but as a ts, you would call it being a supporter.

if we meet people out in public, or family we present as a regular run of the mill hetero couple, and hence do not have to deal with issues that say a male & male couple might face.
we do however vote for political parties that are supportive or LGBT issues (eg we still cant get "married") etc.
i personally do however think that ts are part of the "gay" community.

This poll was more interesting when it displayed who had voted what.
The Mods are very boring.

Admin, how do I alter the poll results to reflect whatever skewed agenda,
I happen to have today.
{Serious question} :innocent:

It's still a public poll. Nothing has been changed or edited.

When I posted, the poll was set to display the names besides what they had voted.
The first two voters were displayed, thus.

That made for a more important poll; lets everyone see what a person really thinks about their sexuality in relation to trans.

I've nothing to hide. I voted:
I do not want to admit I am part of the gay comunity
Denial at it's best, :respect:
Deniallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

and
breathe!

The poll still displays how a person voted. If you can't see who voted then click any underlined number on the right side and it will open the poll results showing who voted and how.

Ah thanks.
That helps because I now want to have lots of sex with Pikachu1989.
They somehow managed to vote on five of the options.
With that stamina, Wow! :lol::lol:

PERSONALLY I view transgendered women as such, women. They are just another flavor, you know bbw, red heads, nerds, hairy chicks, and transgendered ladies. Its all the same to me.

I selected if she is a bottom she is a woman option btw...

But I must say I have never been with a transgendered woman in real life, I really want to, its really really high on my todo list.

But I do think that society would view me as bi-sexual, I do not consider myself gay or bi-sexual. I automatically assume it will take too long to try to explain how I'm not gay, so I guess its just easier for others to consider me bi-sexual... or something. Dunno, I just love transgendered ladies, I will worry about y sexual genre later, after I get my arms around a sweet transgendered lady

Although I can identify with the prejudices the gay community continues to face, I do not, and never have, felt part of it.

When I was a boy, I dated girls. When I was a girl, I dated boys. It's strange how the objects of your sexual desire can switch gender like that as you transition. Anyway, regardless of my own ambiguous sexuality, I have never felt part of the gay community. Genitals really are irrelevant. When you make love to me, you know you are making love to a woman!

But, I do feel part of a much smaller, more isolated, underground community. Gay people can meet each other out in the real world, but when it comes to dating, trans women face a much trickier dilemma. I eventually, pragmatically, turned to internet dating, accepting the fact that I am an acquired taste. I don't really fit in to either "gay" or "straight".

Just women with a little extra... I totally agree with that. There's a logic that should be respected, here. I'm sorry if i'm being too blunt but hey ! if t-women are women, a guy who loves them is NOT gay; accordingly, if this guy should be considered gay for loving t-women, it would mean that they're not women, which is something i personaly strongly disagree with. There's absolutly no way around that logic. None.
The transformation t-women goes thru is REAL in every possible way ! You easily can see and feel that on any you meet. And i know how fantasy is sometimes confused with reality, and i know how much more difficult it can be for someone who transition later in life, but the changes ARE REAL. There is, thank God ! real differences between men and women (despite some trends of hollywoodism), and t-women becomes indeed as different from men as ggs, they at the very least come to incarnate, embody femininity to the core and the fiber of their being. Hell ! not only do they get more beautiful, they sometimes seems to get years younger !! That should say something. Just about every t-girl i have met (but i admit not being very experienced in the matter, just sufficently, in my view) suscitated male protective feelings in me as well as admiration (and oups ! some sex drive), every bit as women does. I'm pretty sure even there, it must have something to do with biology, pheromones for instance. This IS DEEP ! not superficial !

I completly agree with ThirdEyeGirl about the fact that society has to be educated on all of this, and that we should all fight for the right for everyone to be who they want to be and to love who they want to love, as much as everybody else. I think there has been tremendous changes in the last decade or so (thrust an old geezer on that). But i've been wandering for a while about the presence or this "T" in the LGBT acronym, wandering precisely if it is not kind of detrimental to the cause of tgs. Of course, i'm not a tg myself so i can't squeeze my big self in that particular debate knowledgeably (is that an english word ? i don't think so, sorry), but by God ! there is a difference between sexual identity and sexual orientation. To be a t-women (i. e. A WOMAN) doesn't indeed have anything to do with the sex orientation. All of that has been said and known etc etc etc...
So... what's the question, already ???... oh ! right ! The answer is NO, as far as i'm concerned.

Very touching post, Kitten. I feel for you and for every t-girl. You ARE indeed a woman and you should NOT be treated any differently by anyone. You should be able to go out and date boys every bit as any other girl. But thrust me, things are moving, society is changing even if we don't realize it at times. It's slow, there is still some jackasses and psycho assholes, out there, but people are gettig more understanding of it all and yes, slowly becoming better human beings.
Eventualy, this society will be a better place... :)

My daughter used to love the rumbling, sizzling mouse. Wouldn't that carnal affair become some kind of extravagant, weird, accrobatic, electrical sex adventure ? Would we be entitled to peek ?

I don't really consider myself to be gay at the moment. I'm a guy who likes women/shemales/CD/TS. Big deal. Maybe later today I'll feel more like a woman than a man and since I'll still like women/shemales/CD/TS, then I'd be gay.

It totally depends on the time of day or month for me. Even though I'm not gay, I do identify strongly with what is called 'the gay community' and I agree with Kitten that those of us who are into shemales or CD and the like are usually a lot more isolated and outside of what you might call the 'gay mainstream'.
